Chapter Twenty-Four: The Ring

Rocky’s POV

My hands were sweating and I could feel them shaking as I reached for my back pocket.

We stopped at a mall during the drive back to their houses. Kylie and Emily wanted some food so we decided to stop there because it was the closest and Ky is really indecisive.

So after they were eating they wanted to go shopping for a little bit.

Riker and I then went to go get the ring.

I pulled the small blue box from my pocket.

I looked up at Kylie.

Her eyes were locked on the object in my hand.

Slowly her eyes made there way to meet mine. She mouth opened as if she wanted to say something but nothing came out.

“I know this is kinda out of nowhere and we haven't really been together for a long time but just hear me out. I really do love you Kylie. I am so happy that we met. When I first saw you at the concert I felt like you were the one I’ve been waiting for my whole life. I probably sound like some cliche love sick puppy now but its the truth. Kylie Sapphire Adams, I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?”

She nodded, and leapt into my arms.

I slipped the white gold, diamond ring onto her left ring finger.

“And after we get married I can legally adopt Collin.” I mumbled.

“You are seriously the best thing that has come into my life.” She grinned.

I pulled her into a passionate kiss.

“Mumma? Rwocky?” The door opened. “Ewwwwww.”

We pulled apart from the kiss and looked over at Collin.

His nose was crinkled. “Mumma, why were you and Rwocky kissing?”

“C’mere baby.”

Collin runs to the bed and climbs onto it, sitting in between us.

“Collin, do you know what happens when two people love each other a lot?” Kylie asked.

“Um, do they get married?”

“Yes sweetie they do. You see, Rocky and I love each other a lot. And now we are getting married. I’m not sure when but what would you think of having Rocky as your dad?”

He stood up on the bed and started jumping. “Yes mumma!! I want a daddy a lot!!”

I laughed as he attacked me, pulling me into a hug. “Now we can be a real family! We can go to the park and eat ice cream and go to the carnival and have lots of fun!” He squealed.

“Hey Kylie, do you think I could take him to the park to have some bonding time? You could go over to Em’s and tell her the news.”

She grinned. “Of course.”  

I peck her on the lips and pick up Collin in my arms.

“I can walk! Silly Daddy!” He giggles.

I chuckle. “Ok ok.” I set him on the ground. “How bout you go get your shoes and a jacket on and I’ll be out in a second!”

“Ok!” He giggles and runs out of the room.

I pull Kylie off the bed, pressing my lips to hers again.

After a while we pull apart. “Now go on, call Emily so you can plan the wedding.” I chuckle.

She grins. “Love you babe.” She pecks my lips once more before grabbing her phone and a jacket and walking out the door.

Kylie’s POV

I was super excited to tell Em. I mean, how did I get so lucky to have Rocky in my life?

I quickly send Emily a text.

‘Meet @ Starbucks in the Mall in ten! I have great news!!!!!!!(:’

Almost immediately get a text back.

‘Ok! See ya then!’

I give Collin a quick hug and kiss, telling him to have fun with daddy. Oh gosh, gotta get used to saying that.

I tell my mom where I'm going before hopping into my car and driving to the mall.

I walk into Starbucks and see Em basically jumping in her seat.

“Kylieeeee” She screams, receiving glares from the employees.

“Em calm your pants.”

I sit across from her and she hands me my drink.

“Thanks Em. So want me to tell you?”

“Whens the wedding?!” She burst out.

“How in the world did you know about this?” I glare at her. “Are you stalking me?”

“No, Riker told me.” She smiles.

“Wow. But seriously can you believe it?! But I feel like we might be too young, or it might affect his career.” I frown.

“Dude, be real here. You are going to marry the guy you have been obsessing over for the  last year or so! Like come on!”

“Ugh you seriously had to say I was ‘obsessing’ over him.”

“Yeah but.”

“Have you ever seen a yeah but chase a who's it up a tree?” I say out of instinct. My dad used to say that all the time too me when I said ‘Yeah but’

“Oh shut up! And now show me the ring!!!!!”

I show her my left hand, the shining ring standing out against my skin.

Emily gasp. “Its so pretty! I love the infinity signs on the sides of the big diamond! I'm so jealous!” She squeals.

My cheeks heat up. “Thanks. And thy best thing is, Rocky wants to adopt Collin. So that he can have a real father.”

“Ky, I think that Rocky is definitely the one.”
