Niyakap ko ng mahigpit si Wyn na kanina pa umiiyak sa tabi ko. Gusto kong matawa sa itsura nito, bakit ba siya umiiyak diyan? When this celebration ends and we take a different path, hindi narin naman na kami magpapansinan. That's what I noticed kasi.
Kumapit ako sa toga na suot ko ng mahigpit. I bit my lips when I started to feel that I'm about to cry. Oh, 'di ba? I'm mocking Wyn for crying but my eyes started to sweat too.
"Thank you for your hard work through the whole year, Grade 12 students!"
We clapped our hands, the ceremony ended. We started to go in the middle of stage to do a picture taking session with our teachers, classmates, and closest friends. Marami rin ang nagsigrab ng chance para magpapicture sa mga crush nila. May iilan pa ngang lalaki na lumapit sa akin para sa ilang litrato.
"Thank you!" They said after.
Dumeretso na kami para magcelebrate for this achievement of us. Wyn invited me to come to there house, Tita invited me kasi since wala naman daw sa amin si Mommy.
Sabay kaming lumabas ni Wyn. I informed the driver that Mom assigned on me na I won't go straight back to the house. He just nodded and told me na magtext na lang ako kung magpapasundo na ba ako dito.
Palabas na kami ng campus when I saw Axel in the crowd, he's waiting for someone. He's with Sevasti who's holding a two bouquet of flowers. Nang makita ako nito, he pointed me to Axel using his lips, he's still wearing his friendly approaching smile at me.
"Wait lang." Paalam ko kay Wyn.
"Sana all na lang," Halos maiyak na naman ito. "Napurlata na kasi ang akin, e." Bulong niya pa na hindi nakatakas sa pandinig ko.
"Mamag-asa ka sa crush mo," Tawa ko.
"Oo na, wait na lang kita sa sasakyan."
Umalis na ako sa tabi nito para lumapit kay Axel at Sevasti na naghihintay. Binati ko si Sevasti na malawak ang ngiti sa akin.
"Hi, Sachi!" Bati nito.
"It's Sachleia for you, bro." Rinig kong mariin na bulong ni Axel na kinatawa ng malakas ni Sevasti. "You can go now and find Shobe." Masungit na utos nito.
"Alright, bro, chill!" Halakhak ni Sevasti. "Congratulation, Sachleia." Bati nito sa akin.
Lumapit ako sa kan'ya to give him a hug. I tapped his shoulder and push it back.
"Thanks, Sev!" Ngisi ko.
He handed me the flowers. "The squad wants to give it to you as our gift." Saad nito.
"Squad?" Tanong ko, clueless.
"Kaming lahat." Sagot ni Axel.
Sevasti wiggled his brows, as if saying that he agreed on Axel's statement. Dinantay pa nito ang braso sa balikat ni Axel na walang say about doon. Parang tamad na tamad siya at inaantok na ewan. Napansin ko tuloy ang dark circles sa lalim ng mga mata nito.
"Oh, salamat talaga!" Inamoy ko ang bulaklak and it smells good! "You still can't sleep regularly? Want me to help you to look for sleeping pills?" Offer ko rito.
"No need but I appreaciate your kindness." Ngiti nito, bumaling kay Axel bago tumingin sa akin, is he asking for permission? "Also, no need to thank us for doing this. You're part of the squad. Since they can't go here themselves for some personal reasons, btw, sa ipon pa namin galing 'yan." Ngiti ni Sevasti bago nginuso nito ang bulaklak.
Nanlaki ang mata ko. "As in?" Tanong ko bago bumaling kay Axel na tumatango.
"As in, as a band." He added.
