Chapter~15~ Minor Concussions

Sadie slowly opened her eyes, quickly shutting them again, and wincing at the bright light. She groaned, her head killing her.

"Sadie?" She heard a soft voice next to her.

She slowly opened her eyes again, seeing just a shadowy figure, her vision still blurry. After a few seconds she finally opened her eyes fully, still narrowing them just a bit. She saw JJ.

"Hi." She whispered, her voice hoarse.
"Baby..." he whispered back, it looked like he had been crying.

She went to sit up just a bit, her head started to pound even more, causing her to wince, going back to her position before.

"Yeah... how's your head? The doctor said the medicine should kick in soon." JJ said softly.
"It's... okay. Just feels like a migraine." Sadie whispered.
"Oh. Here, I got you some apple juice. The doctor said it would help." He smiled at her.

She took it from his hands, the straw already poked into the pouch, she softly smiled at her boyfriend. He was so sweet and thoughtful, even just the tiniest of things he did, meant so much to Sadie.

"Thank you."
"Of course."

"Ah, Ms. Valentine. Glad to see you're awake, I'm Dr. Rue, and how are you doing?" The doctor quietly spoke, entering the hospital room.

"Um, I'm good. My head his majorly killing me though." Sadie replied back, cringing.

"Oh yes, the medicine should hopefully be kicking in soon. So for now, just rest a bit, and you should be fine. You hit your head on what seemed like a rock, or something very rigid, causing you to have a big gash in your head. So, we had to give you stitches. You have a very minor concussion, so I say just rest for a bit, and you should be fine, okay? Your head will hurt for a while, so, we're gonna prescribe you some pain killers for the migraines and soreness."
The doctor explained.

Sadie just nodded, not completely understanding what she said, but just went with it. Luckily she had JJ to remember all that.

"Thank you." JJ said to the doctor.

The doctor just nodded walking out. Then came in Ward, who looked kind of pissed. He gave JJ a look, telling him to get out, which JJ did exactly that, not wanting to start a scene. Ward walked closer to the bed.

"Sadie," he spoke softly. "What happened?"

Sadie debated for a moment, on whether she should just tell the truth or not. She decided to tell the truth.

"Rafe and Topper where jumping Pope and JJ, so when Kie and I went to help, Rafe pushed me and I guess my head slammed into a rock."

Ward sighed, "Sadie, Midsummers is today, what are you gonna do?" He completely ignores what she said.

She scoffed, "Its fine, the doctor just said I had a very minor concussion, and I should get rest. So, I'll be fine by the time it starts, even in a couple hours maybe." She explained.

"All right, well, let's get you home I guess."

"Okay, um, what time is it?"
"5:00am, why?"
"No reason, just wondering."

The doctor came back in, having Ward sign some papers so Sadie can leave, she also gave Ward Sadie's prescription, giving them the instructions on when she should take them.
Sadie got unhooked from the machines, getting up slowly. She walked out, seeing JJ sitting in a chair, waiting for her. Once he saw she was walking out, he immediately jumped up to help her. He walked her to the car with Ward, and she stopped before getting in.
