"Wait, he what?" Sadie exclaimed, eyes wide.
"He... kissed me." Kie quietly replied.
"Oh my gosh. Did you kiss him back?"
"No.."
"Why not?"
"You know, the rule."
Sadie rolled her eyes.
"Kie, just like you told me the other day, that rule is stupid. So what's the real reason?"
"Look, I-I don't know. I guess I-"

Before she could finish her sentence, her da came over.
"Hey, girls can y'all do me favor, please?"
"Of course Mr. C."
"For sure dad."
"Alright, Kie can you start splacking the walls? And Sadie, can you start organizing can you start organizing back here?" He handed Kie a bucket, and pointed to the space behind the counter for Sadie.

The two girls started working, about 30 minutes later Pope walked in.
'Oh lord.' Sadie thought.
"So." He started, walking over to Sadie, Kie was behind her in the ladder.
"John B needs us?" Sadie finished his sentence.
"Yeah."

Sadie rolled her eyes, as did Kie. Sadie was still mad at JB for what he said about her mom, so until she hears an apology, she wasn't doing shit with or for John B. She knew that sounded childish, but he really used it against her, knowing how much it would hurt her. Why Kie was mad at him? She wasn't totally sure, all she knew was that he kissed her.

"I'm not going." Sadie said.
"Yeah, neither am I." Kie chimed in.
"Guys-"
"No, Pope, if he really needed us that badly, he would come get us himself." Sadie said.
"Exactly." Kie agreed.
Pope sighed in defeat, he knew that they were right and wouldn't budge. He left the restaurant, John B coming in soon after. Sadie rolled her eyes.

"Uh, hey, w-what are y'all doing?" He walked over to them.
Kie climbed off the ladder walking away, while Sadie stayed silent. John B followed Kie, they talked for a few minutes, then hugged. Sadie smiled slightly, glad they could make up. Kie went out to the van, John B walking over to Sadie.

"Um, hey." He quietly said.
Sadie just looked at him, blanked face.
He sighed. "Look, please talk to me. I'm so sorry about what I said, I'm just... I'm stressed a-and I know it was wrong and stupid, I-I'm sorry. I just really wanna find my dad, and I know that's no excuse for what I said, I just... agh, I love you Sadie, okay? I. Love. You. A lot. You're my literal best friend, and you mean so much to me and it would really suck if I lost you right now, or ever."

Sadie looked at him, shocked. She knew he didn't mean like he loved, loved her, but still, he's never really said it seriously, even in a best friend kinda way. She stared at him, seeing he was being completely genuine. He cleared his throat, thinking he might have gone too far.

"I love you too, John B." She finally said.
He let out a breath. Sadie came from around the counter, hugging him, she pulled back, looking right into his eyes.
"You really did hurt me though, and I know that you didn't mean it, but still. I forgive you though, but if you ever say some shit like that to me again... I will beat your ass. I'm serious."
John B smiled, nodding his head.
"Of course."
"Okay, let's go." She grabbed his hand, pulling him to the van.

It was dark out now and John B was driving the Pogues to a graveyard. Why? Sadie has no idea, but she just went with it.

"You mind if I just sit this one out? It's been a long day, a lot of weird stuff has gone down." JJ admitted.
"Oh did you want a hit of this?" He asked Pope, trying to hand him a blunt.
"I keep the signal clear." Pope pushed the blunt away.
"I'll take it." Sadie raised her hand.
"Ah yes, that's my girl." JJ smiled, handing it to her.
