Chapter~23~ Robbery

"Are you sure you're going the right way?" Kie asked.

"Yeah, they keep the money out here?" Pope asked, seeing as they only saw trees and bushes.

"That's what she said." JJ said. He then realized what he said, "That's what's she said." He laughed.

Pope immediately shut him down, "Nope, shut up."

Sadie laughed at their antics, before looking out the window.

"I've never even heard of Resurrection Drive." Sarah said.

"That's because you're rich." JJ said.
"You've never heard of it either." Kie commented.
"Thank you."

"There's nothing but weeds back here." Sadie said.
"All right, just because it's just weeds, doesn't mean it's like..." JJ went to explain, but got cut off by sirens.

"What the hell?" Sadie turned to look out the back window, the rest of the crew doing the same.

"What are the cops doing out here?" Kie asked.

"God! Are you kidding me?" John B asked, irritated.
"What did we even do?" Sarah asked.

"Stash that." Pope said to JJ, referring to the gold.

JJ began to quickly put it in his backpack, trying to find a place to hide it. Sadie pointed to the seat, JJ lifted it up, putting the bag in there.

"Wait, did you bring the gun?" Pope asked.
"JJ, I swear if you have the gun." Kie warmed.
"No, chill. Sadie told me to leave it at the chateau." JJ said.

"How much weed do you have, bro?" Sadie asked.

JJ didn't have time to answer because they heard a gun get cocked. Their heads all shot towards John B's window, there stood a man with a mask over his face, and a shotgun pointing at John B.

Their stomachs dropped, Sadie felt like she wanted to cry. "Why don't I go ahead and see them hands in the air." He said.

When no one did what he said, he got mad, "All y'all hands in the air now!" He yelled.

Breaking from their state of shock, they did as told.

"You, out of the car! Let's go!" He yelled to John B.

John B did what he said, getting out the car slowly.

"Let them out!" He yelled, gesturing toward the rest of the Pogues.

John B went to the other side of the van, sliding the door open. They came piling out, Sarah coming out of the passenger side.

"There you go pretty girl." He said to Sarah.

Sadie was the last one out of the back, Barry stopping her. "Whoa, whoa." She turned to him, confused, tears rolling down her eyes.

"Why you crying? You too pretty to cry now, girl." He raised his hand to wipe her tears, she flinched.
"Aw, come on, what? I ain't gonna hurt ya." He said.

JJ had enough, about to walk up to them, when Barry pointed the gun at him. "Back the hell up!"

He started walking toward the group again, roughly grabbing Sadie and dragging her to them. JJ grabbed her.

"Down on the ground now! Face down!"

The Pogues did what he said, but I guess they were doing it too slow, because Barry started yelling again. "Hurry the hell up! Lay down in the ditch! Lay down in the ditch!"

Sadie started to full on sob now, JJ reaching his hand to hers, and squeezing it gently.

"Don't let me see you look up! All right!"

"It's a setup guys!" Kie said.
"That old bat shanked us!" JJ yelled, slamming his free fist into the ground.

Barry went into the van, aggressively looking around for the gold. As he was doing so, John B slowly and quietly got up, catching the attention of his friends.

"John B." Sarah whimpered.

"What are you doing?" Kie asked.

"Don't be a hero, man." JJ whispered.

John B walked to Barry's car, quietly getting in the back. Barry soon got out the van, gold in hand. He was still pointing the gun at the teens.

"All right, stay like that." He said, walking to his car.

He got in, the Pogues fearing for John B. They soon saw the car start to shake and John B yelling. "Guys, I got the gun!"

They all ran over to the car, Barry came stumbling out. JJ ran over and punched him, but Barry punched him back and threw him to the ground. Kie went to get a punch in, but also got thrown to the ground. John B hit Barry in the back with the gun, causing him to fall to the ground.

"I got the gold!" Pope said.

Sarah slammed the car door into Barry multiple times, and Sadie kicked him multiple times, wanting to get a few hits in there. As Barry leaned against the side of the car, in pain, they took his mask off.

"I know this piece of shit! He's a basehead!" JJ yelled.

"He probably knows my brother." Sarah sighed, running a hand through her hair.

"He sells coke to my dad." JJ said, full of anger.

"Hey listen, I couldn't hurt any single one of y'all-" Barry began, but got cut off by JJ hitting him with the gun.

"JJ!" Sadie yelled.

"Come on, let's get outta here." John B said.

JJ dug into Barry's pocket, taking out his wallet. He dug through it, grabbing his I.D, throwing his wallet back at him.

"We got one last stop." JJ said, pushing John B away. He started walking back to the van, getting into the drivers seat, "Let's go see where this son of a bitch lives." He spat out.

The rest of the crew followed him into the van, John B grabbing Barry's keys and chucking them deep into the forest. He then got into the van, JJ speeding off.
