Chapter~19~ Kook versus Kook

"No effing way. You brought her here?" Kie yelled.

The Pogues sat on John B's porch, Sarah Cameron with them. Sadie sat next to Sarah, who sat next to John B, Kie in front of them. John B turned to Sadie, silently pleading for help.

Sadie sighed, "Kie, chill it's just-"
"What? Is she in on this now?" Kie cut her off.

"All I care about is that her cut, comes out of your share." JJ piped up. Kie furrowed her eyebrows, "You know, I don't remember taking a vote."

Sadie sighed yet again, standing up, "Kie come on, just give her a chance-"
"No Sadie, this is our thing. A Pogue thing."

"I gotta say, I am just a tad bit uncomfortable with all this." Pope commented. Sadie gave him a look, as to say, "not helping."

"When are you not uncomfortable?" John B challenged. "I mean, I rode on the back of JJ's bike here pretty comfortably." Pope retorted. "He did, most relaxed I've ever seen him." JJ agreed.
"That's real cute guys." John B said.

"You know we were all extremely comfortable until you brought her here."
Sadie groaned, "Kie."
"Stop talking about me like I'm not here." Sarah said.
"Then leave." Kie retorted.

Sarah turned to John B, "I told you."
"Told him what exactly? That you're a liar."
Sarah turned back to Kie, "No, that you're a shit talking bitch."
"Sarah!"

"My money's on Kie." JJ pulled money out of his pocket.

"Oh I'm a bitch?"
"When have I ever lied?"
"You-"
"Shut up!"

Everyone went silent, looking at Sadie. "Look, Kie. I get you're mad, I really do, but this is tiring. What Sarah did was fucked up I'll admit, but this is fucking gold that we're talking about Kie, gold! You guys are both my best friends and I love you both so much, but it's already hard balancing my "Kook" life, and my "Pogue" life at the same time, so having you two bickering to and talking about each other 24/7 is, honestly? Fucking exhausting. We're sixteen y'all, can we please start fucking acting like it for fucks sake!"

Everyone was silent, Sadie's outburst leaving them in shock. Kie looked conflicted, not really knowing what to say. John B spoke up for her, "Thank you Sadie. Look, Kie, you are my best friend, and Sarah, you're my- my...."

Sarah smiled at him, "Say it."
"My girlfriend." He finished.
"Oh, that's new." Pope commented.

"So she's your girlfriend now? What was all that talk about you were just using her for information? Get the map, cut her loose." Kie brought up.
Sarah turned to John B, hurt, "You said you were using me?"

"No," he tried to lie.
"Yeah you did."
"Don't lie John B."

"Okay, yes. But, love just walked in okay?" JB admitted.
"Oh, vomit."
"I didn't expect it. It just kind of happened. And I'm not gonna deny it."
"Oh that's corny." Pope whispered.

"Look, cut the bullshit, John B. If she's in, I'm out."
Sadie's eyebrows furrowed, it was like nothing she said mattered, Kie wasn't gonna forgive Sarah.

Sadie sighed, sitting back down, waiting for this all to go more downhill. "I'm not doing this." John B said. Kie crosses her arms, "I'm very interested, actually. Me or her?" Kie challenged.

She only did this expecting for John B to pick her, one hundred percent. "Both." He said.

There it is. "Oh, shit." Sadie said.
"He went for the Hail Mary." JJ whispered.

Kie stared at John B, waiting for him to change his answer, but when he stayed silent, she felt the tears brimming her eyes. Sarah Cameron won, yet again. She walked off, leaving the Pogues, and Sarah, in an awkward silence.

"It'll be cool, right?" Sarah mocked John B from earlier. She then got up, leaving. Sadie went to follow her, "Sarah, wait."
"Look, Sadie. You tried, but Kie clearly doesn't wanna work things out so." She shrugged. "I'm gonna let y'all chat. Let me know."  She walked to her bike, leaving.

Sadie sighed, walking into the house. "I just wanna say, you handled that beautifully." JJ sarcastically commented.

They went into the house, Pope going to check on Kie. Sadie would've done it, but she figured that she was mad at her. The rest of the Pogues talked about what just happened, while waiting for Pope. As he walked in, JB threw him a water bottle, "What'd she say?" He asked.
"That you're an idiot."
John B sighed, JJ went to grab a water from the fridge, "You know Sadie, I get she's your friend, and your girlfriend John B. But, we can't do this without Kie."

"And I can't do this without Sarah." John B replied.
JJ sighed, "So, what? We're just dead in the water because you're too pussy-whipped?"

John B sat for a moment thinking, "Okay, you know what?" He hopped off the counter, "I know that this is my fault, but it's our problem. I've got a plan, and you three shitheads are gonna help me out."

John B explained his plan on how they were gonna lock Kie and Sarah on a boat overnight. So they could make up. Sadie thought it was stupid, but what made it even more stupid, was how he said that she would have to stay with them. "Wait, why me?"

"Just to insure that they don't kill each other." John B explained. Sadie scoffed, "Fine."

He told Sadie to stay the night at Kie's to make sure that she actually comes out to the dock when Pope arrives.

That night at Kie's was awkward, to say the least. Kie and Sadie barely spoke, being on their phones almost the whole night. Sadie understood why Kie was upset, but it would still be nice to talk.

It was like her prayers had been answered, because Kie turned to her, "So, today was wild."
Sadie looked up from her phone, laughing, "Oh yeah, for sure. When you smacked John B, that was awesome."

Kie laughed, "Yeah, he's been really irritating lately."
That made Sadie think about the plan, "Tell me about it."

"Look," Kie said, getting more serious. "I get that Sarah is your best friend too. And I'm not saying you can't be friends with her. But... this was supposed to be our thing, you know?" Sadie nodded. "It just irritates me that you like, basically took her and John B's side."

Sadie furrowed her eyebrows, "Kie, I didn't take their side, I was trying to take both of your sides, but clearly that didn't work out," she chuckled. "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, but, when is this feud between you and her gonna end?"

Kie sighed, shrugging, "I don't even know."
The two girls stayed silent, Sadie suddenly pulling Kie in for a hug. "I love you, you know?"
Kie smiled, hugging her back, "I love you too."

They pulled back, soon getting under the covers, falling fast asleep. Sadie was nervous about tomorrow, wondering if John B's horrible plan will even work. I guess she'll find out in the morning.
