Chapter~13~ Lost Gold

The events that just occurred, led the three Pogues to Topper's boat.

"2020 Malibu, 24-MXC. Number one in quality, luxury, and performance." Pope repeated from early, determination was heard in his voice this time.

"This is war, Pope. They hit us, we hit them." JJ said.

"Pope, I-I know that you're mad, I am too, but is this really the best idea?" Sadie asked, unsure.

"Sadie, they gave you bruises all right?"
"Yeah, but Topper-"
"Topper doing nothing, is just the same as if he hit you."

Sadie sighed in defeat, knowing she couldn't get either of them to crack.

"Fine." She muttered.
"Do it." JJ turned to Pope.

JJ and Sadie put their sunglasses on, to not get recognized. Pope jumped into the water, swimming over to Toppers boat. He climbed on it, pulling the plug out, causing it to start sinking. He jumped off, swimming back over to the boat his friends were on.

"I can't believe you actually did it," JJ said, helping Pope back into the boat. "I'm so proud of you."

"Guys?" Pope said.
"Yeah?"
"You can't tell anyone alright."
"Yeah, my lips are sealed." JJ said.
"Of course, Pope."

His face turned more serious.
"I'm being dead serious. Not John B, not Kie, no one." He said.

"Yeah, man." JJ said, throwing away the "key."
"For sure." Sadie said, doing the same.

"Give me that." He took the plug from Pope, throwing it into the water.

They quickly drove off, not looking back once.

Kie and John B were out in the water, sitting across from each other in their surfboards. It was silent for a moment, until Kie spoke up.

"Hey, uh, remember... when you kissed me?" She asked.
"Yeah. Yeah, I remember."
"Did you tell JJ?" She asked.

John B was confused. Why did she wanna know if he told JJ?

"Uh, I kinda had to... Pogues don't keep secrets from other Pogues. Did you tell Sadie?" He asked.

Again, why did he care?

"Yeah, because you know... same."
"Yeah... JJ just laughed at me because you shot me down." John B laughed.
"I didn't shoot you down," Kie scoffed. "It was really bad timing, you were freaking out, right?"

"Yeah, I was freaking out," John B agreed. "Why do you ask?"

"Just wondering." Kie looked at the land, seeing the three other Pogues running towards them.

"Hey, save some waves for us!" JJ yelled.
"Hey, where you been?" Kie called back.

It was now dark, and the Pogues were laying in the huge hammocks that John B had. With JB and Pope in one, and Kie, JJ, and Sadie in the other.

"You really think it's out there? Like, no bullshit?" Pope asked suddenly.
"I mean, my dad thought it was."
"Yeah, but, do you?" He asked again.
"After hearing his voice.... I think I do."

Sadie got more situated between JJ's legs, feeling more tired.

"Look, we're gonna find it guys, even JJ believes." Kie said.
"Oh my gosh, JJ, do you really believe?" John B asked, his voice high pitched.
