Cane POV

My eyes flew open and I stared at the ceiling. There were no windows in my room but the light turned on at sunrise everyday. It had woken me up immediately and in unison the lightbulb went off in my head.

I knew what I was going to do. The USB was going to be my insurance, I already knew that. But now that I knew part of what plan B was going to be, I had new use for it.

Gabriel said he was going to have to enact plan B only if plan A didn't work out. I already knew there was no way I was going to let A happen, therefore he'd have no choice but to put B into action. Problem for him was that I wasn't going to be there to do it. Problem for me was that he'd easily replace me, ultimately giving me little to no time to act.

I'd have to screw his plan B too. And this USB was going to be everything I needed.

What about Marco?

I could use the USB to gain his trust. I'd originally planned on simply sneaking past all security at night—which I was very capable of— and taking the bitch Rosalie with me, getting her and myself out of Gabriel and Sages plan. With things having changed a while ago, I had to take into account more than myself. So, I was going to trade the USB which held all— almost all—the information on the attack for Rosalie.

Which meant I'd need to be at the house moments before the security and finance sector were broken into so Marco would have no choice but to give Rosalie up.

Nima shifted beside me, placing her hand on my chest. I heard her soft snores and looked back up at the ceiling.

Zhara.

I needed to get to L.A. somehow. I guess I'd have to bring Rosalie to L.A. then. Which works out even better because by the time Matteo finds out his little girl is missing, we'll be long gone.

I had less than two weeks to get things together. And find out whatever Nima was hiding.

My arm slipped out from under her and I walked to the bathroom, staring at myself as I brushed my teeth.

Someone had spared Marco. The only person that would ensure his safety was... I froze.

Rosalie knew all about this? What more could she want? The woman was never fucking satisfied.

I spit into the sink furiously and showered. Near the end of my bathing session, I heard the bathroom door open and Nima walked in. I wrapped my towel around my waist and proceeded to grab shaving cream to apply on my stubbled jaw.

She was bent over washing her face in the sink after having brushed her teeth and I took the opportunity. I set the cream down and grabbed a handful of her hair, pulling her head up to look at me in the mirror. My blue eyes pierced into hers and droplets fell off my curled hair and onto her bare shoulder.

"Hmm," she moaned in appreciation.

"Nima," I began slowly, keeping my voice low.

"Yes," she breathed out when my wet finger made its way across her nipple and down her stomach.

"Why does Gabriel want you to leave so early," I whispered into her ear, giving it a light bite when she took too long to respond.

"I- I already told you. I need to spend more time with Arianna."

"So you spend five years working on something and suddenly you want to take care of your daughter? Where the fuck was your conscious all those years ago?"

She released a moan and winced when I cupped her womb and tightened my grip on her hair.

"Cane you're hurting me," she whined.
