Dark Tempers

My boots patter along the freshly cleaned floors and my arms swing by my sides. I was on my way to Three's quarters just before lunch was about to start and by the way many workers began to walk down the hall towards the other end of the ship, I presumed the Dining Hall must be that way.

I stop my footing and bite my bottom lip at the hatch, wondering if I should knock or just enter her quarters without an invitation instead. Surely I could just go in? We had spoken yesterday night about today's events, but that still didn't stop the strange feeling in my gut – For the whole time I had known Three, she was always the one to be ready first, waiting outside her door to greet me before I had even laid eyes on that crisp, golden hair and aura.

Shrugging, I do the latter and place my palm on the scanner, allowing blue lights to memorise my fingerprints against the glass.

The hatch opens with a soft hum.

Just like Kylo and I's quarters, the accomodation of Three and Five was a square grey building, with narrow windows in straight rows along the back wall behind the kitchen; Which was conjoined to the large lounge-area, that looked unused if it wasn't for the comfy blanket sprawled across the fabric and the memory of us sitting close together on it yesterday.

The space was cold in its tiling and silent to a crisp in the dense air flow. The black, reflective floors was a principle reminder that these quarters were not theirs, but The First Order's and also shown in the lack of tones branded with strips of beaconing illumination in the form of chevrons and prisms.

Looking around the space as if I hadn't seen it before, I called out Three's name, figuring she was in either of the rooms behind the doors to the side.

The only difference between our quarters and their's was that our kitchen wasn't as quiet as this one, for our kitchen sink had been leaking for the past two days – It was driving me mad.

There was nothing about The Supremacy to me, in the very least picturesque or attractive, for it was far too modern to at all suggest anything homely or safe – To me, this bright place just felt like the middle ground between two sides of a war.

But I must admit, The Supremacy was much nicer than Finalizer, but only in little details for there was never any individual perks to The First Order's design. One, the rooms were much bigger, but that was because the ship had less people on board. Two, the ship was much cleaner and the tiles were scrubbed daily, and Three, well... She was here.

"Hey." I smiled when she peaked her head out of the doorway, holding her hands on the side of the narrow hatch.

Three only slightly comes out of what I assume to be, her room – Frown on her face and eyes searching for a reason for me to be in her lounge. I furrow my brows and give her an awkward smile.

"What's the matter?" I ask, glancing over to the clock hanging in the kitchen and then looking back to her, "We said we would go find the Dining Hall today... You know, for something to do?"

She knits her forehead into a crease and pokes out further, looking at the clock but not enough for her frame to come out from her bedroom, instead using the hatch frame as a shield between her and me.

"Oh." She purses her lips and my stomach tightens as much as they did.

Green eyes looking back to me, a gentle flush of pink had arisen in her cheeks that made her look vulnerable and so incredibly young. I held my breath as she tentatively bit the inside of her cheek, glancing away when I raised an eyebrow.

"Um – I don't think I'm feeling well enough to go out today." She mumbled.

Three curled a dainty finger behind her ear and only now did I notice the missing headscarf on her head, it looked strange to me, who also had abandoned the uniform piece, but only because she had never been out of uniform before – She was the perfect, golden figure and had never disobeyed any rules, no matter how minuscule or degrading.
