Chapter 16: Mine's the Best

Arie's POV-

"Can you get the door?" Cherry yells, "I'm just putting in my last hair curler!" I open the door to find Marcia, dress in hand.

"Arie!" she says.

"Mar!" I say, with just as much enthusiasm. We run upstairs and into Cherry's room. Getting completely made over takes almost two hours, but we still finish before the boys knock on the door. Bob comes in first, picking up Cherry as if it was their wedding day.

"Bob, I'm in a dress!" she giggles. Randy enters next, and just like you would guess he goes straight to Marcia to make out with her. Finally, Ed comes in. Unlike the other boys, who are wearing leisure suits, he wears what seems like the first tuxedo. It's not quite like it is back home, but it is definitely a rendition of a tuxedo. He also has a blue bow tie, perfectly matching my dress. He takes out a white corsage that matches my pearls, and he carefully slips it onto my wrist.

"I heard that you liked 'the look of the future' so I searched for the newest design in men's formal wear," Ed says, "Sorry if it's ugly, I kinda like it but then again it's the newest thing, it's not popular yet."

"No, Ed, I love it," I say, in awe.

"I'm glad," he says, and he comes over and hugs me."

"Awwww!" Cherry and Bob say. Marcia and Randy are still making out.

"Well, let's get to it! We have a prom to get to!" Ed says, taking my hand in his.

We walk into the prom, each couple arm in arm. We dance to each song, until a slow song comes on. I thought I would be awkward while slow dancing with Ed but he made it so easy.

"I don't know if anyone's told you lately but you're beautiful," Ed says to me while we are dancing. Thank god it's dark in here because I must be as red as Cherry's hair.

"I really like you. Like a lot. You're unlike any girl I've ever met," Ed says, looking deeply into my eyes.

"I really like you too. I feel like I've known you forever," I say.

"Well, my forever started when I met you," Ed says. Our foreheads are touching, and we lean in for our first kiss. My entire body lifts up and I'm off the ground, I swear I'm on fire. Our lips part and I flutter back down to the ground, my smile ear to ear.

"Wow," I say.

A/N: Merry Christmas! Yes this chapter is short but sweet nonetheless! I'll be writing a lot more, I have had some really great ideas lately, I just have to get there xD
