Snow and wind. They howled and sucked all light in with them. This scared Xisuma above all things. So when a snowstorm kicked up, and X was stuck in the shopping district, he was frozen in fear. First it was the howling winds. They beat against the glass windows of Cherry as Xisuma huddled inside. Since the windows were huge, X could see everything that was happening outside. The wind was whipping the trees around and some of the buildings were shaking. Xisuma hid in the corner, curing up in a ball.
Then the snow started coming. The white frost was being whipped around like tiny, cold knives. The screaming wind blew the snow in through a crack in the door, giving X the chills.
The snow brought back too many memories. Ex locking him outside for days. Freezing and stumbling until he found a village.
Xisuma broke down and started to sob. His chest was heaving, trying to get enough breath in. He laid his head against the wall and squeezed his eyes shut.

Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. The person sat down beside him and pulled him into a tight hug. X opened his eyes and it was Keralis. He closed eyes again, trying to stop crying. His breathing was slowing as he melted into his friend's arms.
"It's ok, Shwishwamy." Keralis whispered in his silky, smooth voice. "You're okay, you're okay." Xisuma let out a shuddering breath and turned to look at his friend. His big brown eyes gazed back at him calmly. X turned and laid his head down on Keralis' chest. He slowly closed his eyes and went to sleep. The snow was piling up outside, snowing in the two hermits. It also blocked out all the sound; everything was silent except for the sound of soft breath. Outside, it was a huge windstorm full of chaos. But inside, it was calm.
