Aye y'all! this one is so short, but im working on the first chapter of my Au. I have more Bthb coming before that, but it might take a while. im actually gonna try and write my au properly and not just write the whole thing at 1am. anyway, hope you enjoy this! (tw: ow, blood honestly idk)

"Gah!" Joe hills cried out in pain. "This is your fault."

"My fault?" Cleo gave a mock offended look. "You were the one who dangled your leg down where they could reach you."

"Well you were the one who had the idea for fishing for silverfish in the first place."

"Fair enough."

Joe was leaned up against a wall, his right leg extended. Miss Cleo was kneeling in front of him, observing the large red gash in Joe's leg. A silverfish had jumped up and stung him, causing a lot of pain.

Joe flinched every time Cleo brought the rag close to his leg, anticipating the stinging that came with touching the wound. "This is actually bad, Joe. We might have to chop it off." She said, looking up with a grin.

"Ha, ha. Very funny. Now fix me up doc. Joe said, gingerly adjusting his position between bursts of pain.

"In all honesty, are you feeling okay, Joe?" Cleo said sincerely.

"Honestly, no. It hurts bad." Cleo used her empty hand and squeezed Joe's.

"Aw, sorry bud. I'll try to be gentle." Cleo continued wiping the disinfectant into the gash, and Joe continued to wince at the pain, crying out every once in a while.

"Am I gonna live miss Cleo?" Joe asked with a strained grin.

"Well not if I don't get these barbs our."

"Barbs!?"

"Yes, barbs. Why did you think it hurt so much? Voodoo?"

"Well I wouldn't expect less from you, wonderfully witchy Cleo."

Cleo carefully examined the few barbs in the poet's leg. As she brought he fingers to one, Joe squeezed her hand tighter. Cleo squeezed back. Joe yelped as Cleo quickly pulled it out.

"See that wasn't that bad!"

"Yeah, s-sure." Said Joe, shaking and holding back tears. Cleo held his hand tighter as she prepared for the next one.

Soon, all of the barbs has been removed. Joe has given up on keeping the tears in, and they were now running down his face. He let out a few calming breaths as Cleo rubbed his shoulder comfortingly.

"Feeling better?" Joe shakily nodded. Cleo day on the floor next to Joe, letting him lean on her shoulder as she played with his hair. "It's gonna be okay." She whispered. Joe let out a shaky breath and leaned into Cleo's touch. The pair sat there for a while, Joe falling asleep and Cleo watching him lovingly.

(a/n... IN A PLATONIC WAY!! Thank you for listening to this edition of author's note.)

When Joe finally awoke, Cleo had just finished bandaging his injured leg.

"Oh hun, you're awake!" Joe smiled. "We should probably get you home so you can rest. You're gonna hafta' walk. Can you do that."

"Yeah, that'll probably be fine, as long as I can lean on you miss Cleo."

"Of course mister Joseph Hills." The pair walked through the nether towards Joe's winery while singing their own rendition of "Lean on me".

When they arrived, Cleo helped Joe to his bed and blew a kiss as she left.

"Get lots of rest my dear!"

"Of course I will my sweet!"
