CHAPTER NINE

*Santana, are you aware of who you are?* Damon asked.

*What are you talking about?*

*Do you know that your ‘parents’ aren’t your real parents?*

*My wolf and I were talking about that. I’m the only one in my family who has blonde hair and gold eyes.*

*I think I know who your real parents are.*

*What?!*

*In my pack, an incident happened. Sixteen years ago the whole pack was drugged. They were knocked out for a couple days. By the time everyone woke up, the Alpha’s daughter was gone. She was kidnapped. Those of who didn’t get drugged heard something that night; the sound of a child crying but they were used to it as there were many young children around at the time.*

*You think I am that child; the Alpha’s daughter?*

*When I first met you, I thought I saw you before. When my sister Casey picked me up, I told her about you. After I said you looked familiar she asked for your description. Once we thought about it, we rushed back to the bus station to only find you gone.*

*How did you find me?*

*I followed your scent. And also, I phoned up a buddy of mine and got him to locate your cell phone.*

*That’s a little creepy, but I’ll ignore that,* she laughed.

*This is a serious matter. You shouldn’t joke about it.*

*I’m sorry,* she rolled her eyes.

He shook his head.

*I called her,* he whispered.

*Called who?*

*Chloe, your mom.*

Sage jumped happily. You see! You have a different mom!

Santana could barely think. Her legs began to shake.

*I’m scared Sage.*

It’s okay. Maybe this pack is nice! You could get out of here, be loved!

*How can I leave the life I’ve always known and go to one with complete strangers? And we don’t even know if I’m that child!*

You are Santana. Now that he said it, I remember. Your mom is a kind woman. She loved you dearly. I felt it when she whispered soft loving words to you when you cried as a baby.

Santana swallowed then stared at Damon.

*You killed those men the other day.*

*They were trying to kill you, I had no choice.*

*But you killed them!*

*They were trying to kill YOU! He had a gun pointed at your head remember! Or did you just have your eyes closed the whole time? You should have shifted!*

*I just told you I didn’t know I was a wolf until yesterday! And how did I even get back into my room?*

*Casey carried you.*

*Your sister?*

He nodded.

*Your sister carried another girl?*

*I’m sorry! I was covered in blood. I couldn’t have myself carrying you now, as I was nude!*

Santana’s eyes widened. Oh my god! If she was in her human form she’d be as red as a tomato. She remembered his gorgeous good looks back on the bus; his ruffled black hair and brown eyes, and strong body. His sense of humour sure increased since then. Her wolf form grunted and howled.
