CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOUR

“¡Hola,” after a few seconds of waiting, Elle picked up the phone.

“¡Hola, esto es Rosalie,” Rosalie looked around at everyone in the room. It was on speaker phone, so that Santana could hear what she had to say and respond.

“Oh. Why are you calling, if you don’t mind my asking?” Elle’s voice sounded angelic, even though she was supposed to be a person full of hatred for the world and the people around her.

Rosalie sighed, turning to Nesta for permission to cut down to the main point of calling in the first place.

Nesta nodded to proceed.

“Well, I’m sorry sweetheart, but…your mom’s here,” Rosalie closed her eyes, waiting for the big explosion.

“I know,” Elle replied.

“Y-You know?!” Nesta frowned as Rosalie stared at her, completely surprised.

“So mommy dearest, what do you want?” Elle spoke, knowing that Nesta heard the whole conversation.

Nesta sighed, closing her eyes as if in deep frustration.

“The spirits tell me you need my help. Talk or I’m hanging up,” Elle spoke as if in a trance at first, and then her tone became harsh as she finished what she had to say.

“I-I need you to help my friend, you’re her only hope of being with her mate,” Nesta finally spoke, bringing up the mate part, expecting her daughter to feel pity for the couple who needed her help.

But instead she said, “So you came out of your shell to help this girl? Wow mommy dearest, she must mean a lot to you to come and beg for my help when the last time we saw each other…Didn’t I promise to kill you, hmm?” Elle spat.

“I have a photo and his contact information. After you help them, I promise, you’ll never see me again but only if you don’t want to,” Nesta spoke, her voice sounding shaky.

“You’ve cast me out so I wouldn’t find out who he was. The spirits remain blind; he is nothing but a blur to them. At least I know where I attained my powers from. And that’s another thing; why don’t you help them? You’re as strong as I am…” Elle’s voice trailed off.

“B-Because…Elle your past isn’t as bright as mine was. You know the consequences of using dark magic, and the kinks around it. I don’t know what to do!” Nesta cried.

“Alright, I’ll do it. But if you or your friends pull any stunts, don’t expect me to let you live, got it?” Elle warned.

Santana then spoke, “Oh my God, thank you so much! Don’t worry; we’ll stay out of your way! Thank you!”

“You are?” Elle asked innocently, like she didn’t just threaten to kill them if they wronged her.

“The girl you just agreed to help, Santana Rose.”

“Y-You’re Santana?” Elle spoke, shock laced in her tone.

“Yes, why, do you know me?” Santana asked.
