Joe's POV

"We've got Joe Jonas here tonight! Electric performance, Joe!" Ryan starts, and I grin.

"Thanks, man," I say.

"Super catchy songs. I guarantee you they will be stuck in my head all night," he says.

"Mine too," I tell him emphatically, and he laughs.

"But on a more serious note, I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm glad to see you're bundled up now. I was a little worried about you before," he says, and I nod, giggling a little bit.

"I would've gotten hypothermia by now if it wasn't for my sister coming in clutch. She, uh," I pause, smiling thoughtfully, "She looks out for me," I tell him. I glance out at the crowd and lock eyes with Brexley for a split second. She grins at me, and I look away hastily before I start laughing.

"Good thing for her, then. So, your album Fastlife, that was what you just performed, correct?" Ryan asks.

"Yeah. It came out in October, and I was pumped to have the opportunity to play some of it on the biggest stage," I explain.

"That's got to be exciting. What is your favorite song from Fastlife?" he says.

"Oh, that's easily got to be Lighthouse. I love how it sounds and I had a great time recording it in the studio. But ultimately, I love singing every song and I'm glad the people like my music," I say, and he nods.

"I'll have to listen to it. So what're you working on for the new year? What's to come in 2012?" Ryan says.

"To be completely honest with you, I'm not sure yet! I was thinking of taking a break from actually recording music, and maybe just write some songs for other artists. I'll probably spend a lot of time with my family, too," I tell him.

"Everyone loves a family man," he says, and I grin, wiggling my eyebrows.

"If that's the case, then ladies, feel free to hit me up," I say, and I can hear a collective laugh from the crowd below.

"I'm sure you'll have no problem getting a girl, Joe," Ryan says.

"You'd be surprised," I grumble, drawing another laugh from those watching.

Then, it's time for the ball drop and Ryan and I turn our attention to the button, where the Clintons stand ready. Tonight, they have the honor of starting the minute countdown, and we are fifteen seconds away from it happening.

"Are you guys ready?" Ryan asks, waiting until the Clintons agree before turning towards me again.

"How about you, Joe?" he asks, and I nod, looking upwards as the countdown begins.

"14! 13! 12! 11! 10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! Happy New Year!" I chant along with everyone else in Times Square.

I shake the hands of everyone up on the platform after it becomes 2012, and then make my way down to where Nick and Brexley are standing. It takes me a little while to get over to them, since the platform is completely surrounded by excited venturers kissing and taking pictures and being overly happy about the new year, but finally I reach my family.

"Hey, Joe! Happy New Year!" Nick shouts upon my arrival, hugging me tightly.

"Happy New Year, Nicky," I say, beaming at him before looking to Brexley. "Happy New Year, Brex!"

"Happy New Year, Joe. Great interview," she says, and I smirk.

"You only liked it because I mentioned you," I tease her.

"That's not true!" she argues.

"I'm just messing with you," I say, and she swats at my arm with a smile on her face.

"You're so annoying," she says.

"No I'm not. You love me," I say, grinning cheekily.

"Sometimes I'm not so sure I do," she responds, and I roll my eyes, smiling.

Together, the three of us make our way back to the Times Square subway station. The whole walk there we joke around, talk, laugh, and make fun of each other, just as we used to when we all still lived at Mom and Dad's house. All too soon, however, we reach the point where we have to go our separate ways. I hate this part; I always get emotional when this happens because I hate how I don't see my siblings all the time anymore. At least I get to see Brexley everyday.

"Well, it was good to see you, Nick. I wish I could've spent more time actually hanging out with you," I tell him.

"Me too. I think we have a month off next week, maybe we could hang out then? Play golf or something?" he says, and I nod.

"Absolutely. Just let me know, okay?" I say, and he agrees as he turns to say goodbye to Brex.

"Text one of us and let us know you got home alright," Brexley says, and Nick nods as he steps onto his train, waving.

I'm silent as my sister and I step onto our own train, headed back uptown to the apartment. All I can think is: Brexley and Nick, I hope you enjoyed the performance. I hope I made you proud tonight, like you both make me proud all the time.
