Brexley's POV

I watch Game of Thrones for about an hour as I wait for Joe to finish up, texting Nick intermittently about how tonight is going to go down. We're going to meet up in the subway station; that way we can make sure we find each other. Then, after the performance, the two of us will meet up with Joe backstage until he has to go for his interview.

"You're watching Game of Thrones without me?" Joe says, pouting.

"Sorry. I'm bored," I tell him.

"So mean," he jokes, and I shrug at him, refocusing on the show. "I gotta go. I'll see you backstage after the performance, right?"

"Yeah. Nick's going to be there with me," I say, and he nods.

"Good. I feel like I haven't seen him in forever," Joe says, grabbing his phone off the charger and making to leave the apartment.

"Bring a coat!" I yell at him.

"Thanks, Mom!" he calls back annoyingly, leaving the house and not taking one with him. He's actually an idiot.

I get myself ready quickly, making sure I have enough layers with me so that I stay warm. Before I leave I pack a bag of clothes for Joe, because maybe he annoys me and maybe he's dumb, but I still want to keep him safe. It's dangerously cold out tonight. Then I leave the apartment, locking up and texting Nick that I'm on my way. A few minutes later I'm on the subway, making my way to the Times Square station. Nick arrives there at precisely the same time I do, which makes it easy to find each other.

"Hey, Brexley! How are you?" he asks as we walk out of the station and into the bitter air.

"Great! How are you doing? How's it going with the musical?" I ask him.

"It's awesome. I'm having a lot of fun," he says, and I nod.

"Good to see you, Nicky. We've all got to visit each other more," I say, and he agrees.

"I miss you guys," he says.

"Same here. Joe said he's excited you could be here tonight," I tell him.

"Well, it's not as if I live far away," he laughs, and I nod.

"But still."

We make our way to our designated spots at the front of the crowd, right in front of the stage so that we can get out of here in time to meet Joe afterwards. Once we're in our place, Nick turns to me again.

"Good thing Joe goes on in ten minutes. I don't know how long I'd be able to stand out here," he says, and I agree.

"Yeah, same," I tell him, watching Adele perform Rolling in the Deep. Next we watch Drake, who sings his songs Headlines and Over My Dead Body. Now it's Joe's turn, and Nick and I give each other excited looks. Time for him to shine.

He comes on stage looking hyper as ever, the backing track to Just in Love starting up immediately.

"I love a girl in a whole other language. People look at us strange. Don't understand us, they try to change it. I try to tell her don't change," he sings, sounding really good.

He runs around on stage, great presence as always, but during the entire song he's shaking. He's obviously freezing, but trying his hardest not to show it.

"Why didn't he wear a real jacket, the idiot?" Nick asks, and I laugh.

"Because he's stubborn and didn't want to ruin his look. I have one here for him. Figured he'd need it for later," I say, pointing to the bag.

"Good thinking."

Joe makes it through the first song, moving onto Fastlife as soon as it ends. I have to hand it to him, he's putting on a really good performance. Especially for this weather he's dealing with right now.

"I don't really know what you're thinkin', but I know what we're drinkin', let me put your night in drive. Cat walkin' on the runway, but you belong on the highway, coming home is only right," he belts out clearly.

He finishes the song, shaking a little harder now but ignoring it as he grins at the massive crowd. The two of us head backstage, wanting to beat Joe there.

"Happy New Year, everyone!" Joe calls, getting a cheer as he heads down the steps and starts over to Nick and I.
