Merry Christmas! Hope you got everything you wanted!
(Sam)
It was that time of year again that always brought a smile to your face.
Christmas.
You always celebrated through the years. I didn't matter if it was in a motel with Sam and Dean, it was just Christmas. Since finding the bunker it was easier to celebrate the holidays. It mean't you could decorate and make Christmas cookies..... Things you haven't been able to do in years.
The boys didn't have to same excitement that you did, but they always loved to see the smile on your face. Especially Sam. He loved to see you happy. Even with the weight of everything that you had been through, you always managed to smile for him. He admired that about you.
Right now you were in your room writing out Christmas cards to all your friends and some distant family. You had to do about thirty, and you were only half way done. It was going to take a while.
You had left the door open in case if the boys wanted to come in and ask you something. Even Dean knew when your door was shut that they couldn't come in. They respected you like that.
Your radio was several feet away on your bookshelf playing some kind of Christmas music. You couldn't name the station you were listening too but it had something to do with Christmas and that suited you.
Placing the card down in your hand you moved from your position on your bed and stood beside your bed. It was a bad idea that you decided to design each card.
"Why couldn't have I went out and just bought a box of them?" You thought, "Oh yeah I wanted to make them special!"
Popping your back you pulled on your french braid and sighed. You had to get these cards done. They had to be sent out by tomorrow to make them to their destination. You sat back down on the corner of your bed. Picking up your pencil you pulled a new sheet of paper out and set out to draw a Santa.
As you sketched White Christmas came on. It was your favorite Christmas song. You sang along the the song as you tried to get Santa's hat right.
"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen,
To hear the sleigh bells in the snow....."
You continued to sing as you wrote a cheerful message in the card. You were so involved you didn't notice as Sam stood at the door. He loved to watch and hear you sing. But he always made sure that you didn't see him, he didn't want you to change because of him.
A knock on your door interrupted your singing as you looked up and saw Sam leaning against your door. You smiled up at him as you quickly jotted the address down on the envelop and sealed it. "What do you need Sam?"
He shifted, "Well Dean and I felt as something was burning and I wanted to know if you had a candle lit anywhere....."
You frowned trying to think of what would have caught fire in the bunker. You were kinda underground so what could it be?
The thought hit you like a train. Your eyes widened.
Shit. I forgot about the cookies.
You didn't say anything to Sam as you ran past him to go to the kitchen. Smelling the smoke before you even got in the kitchen was a bad idea. You were so distracted you forgot to put on mitts as you opened the oven and quickly grabbed the cookies before they could set fire.
