Chapter 2:

Lux POV:

Listening to my dull heart tick for what feels like forever.

Beat beat beat beat...

I heard its pattern through the darkness of everything else, listening to it slowly fade.

How long have I been here?

Beat. Beat. Beat. It's definitely getting slower.

Where am I?

Beat... Beat.... Beat....

Why am I sleeping, but still thinking consciously?

Beat...

I heard silence now, and I almost gasped, expecting to be dead by now. My heart beat has stopped completely and I'm still alive.

Am I the same person as I was before?

Can I even open my eyes yet?

There's only one way to find out....

And with that, I opened my eyes.

Carter POV:

Carlisle and his family had been watching their new member for the last four days straight. They decided that they should hunt sometime soon, so the pack and I were watching her.

I know... Creepy.

I mean I had only ever met the Cullen's and the vampires that we chased out of the border, let alone a new born!

What if she murders me? I shuddered, but brushed it off remembering that Carlisle had predicted that she won't wake up for another day or two.

Well if one things for sure, the girl is absolutely beautiful. She had long black wavy hair that was left down from when Carlisle found her. She also had beautiful pale white skin, but I couldn't tell if that was from her vampire form or herself.

Either way she was by far the prettiest girl I had ever seen, and I haven't even seen her eyes yet!

Almost as if she had heard my thoughts, the girl on the bed sat up very slowly, rubbing her eyes. She kept her eyes closed and stretched her arms out.

'What's going on!?' The youngest member of the pack, Seth thought to me. I backed away from the bed slowly and shot Seth a I-have-no-clue look.

I could feel my heart beat quicken, as I watched the girl slowly open her eyes to reveal the most gorgeous pair of eyes that I have EVER seen.

They were a deep sparkling hue of violet, with a lilac rim around her pupils. They perfectly complimented her hair and body.

As soon as I had seen her eyes I knew. The world no longer was just a game of wolf tag, it was important. I had to protect this girl from anything or anyone who came near her. She is mine.

Slowly I snapped out of it, and realized that I just imprinted...

On a vampire!?

'SHE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO WAKE UP GUYS!' Jared wolfed over to all of us as the girl stood up slowly, STILL unaware that we were here.

'What do we do Sam?' I asked my alpha who was studying the girl.

'I don't know, Carlisle said she wouldn't be awake for two more days!' Sam said worriedly.
