L.A. is the place of dreams. The place where everyone goes to become something big. Singer, actor/actress, comedian, and YouTuber. Anything you want is made from one little area. L.A. It's busy and certainly not quiet. This is why I moved just outside of L.A.

When I got here, I didn't know anyone except one person. My best friend wanted to live her dream of becoming a writer and work her way up to screenwriting and directing, so she came with me. Thankfully because I wouldn't have known what to do if I left her behind.

We got our first apartment in a cute little complex. We chose a modern apartment. We moved with only a few things until our stuff from our old house came. We both brought air mattresses and a few electronics, our clothes, and bought a few essential stuff until our moving truck comes in a few days.

It was amazing being with my best friend in L.A., living out our dreams. Although we were broke because of how much time and money we spent on this apartment, we were still living the life we never had before. Our old town was holding us back with regret and abuse. Now we were free.

I was walking out of a building where I auditioned for a movie. Another bust. I knew I didn't get the part by the way the producers talked to me. "Okay... we'll let you know in a few days..." His voice was so breathy and tried to let me down easily. When you've auditioned and known you weren't going to get the part, you pick up on things all producers do. As I walked down the street, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I grabbed it and saw it was Sofia, my best friend, calling me. I smiled and answered it, placing the phone against my ear.

"Hey," I said.

"How did the audition go?" She was always excited about my auditions. I chuckled and gave the same response I always do.

"Same as always. They tried to give me a little hope while letting me know I didn't get the part." I explained.

"You always say that. Maybe they are thinking about it." She suggested.

"Yeah, I doubt it," I answered, pushing past people.

"Well, are you coming home or..."

"I think I'm going to run a few errands. Maybe go to the bookstore and find the book you've been wanting. Get a few groceries." I listed. She chuckled and I gave a small smile.

"Aww, that's so sweet. Don't forget to buy coffee. You drank it all this morning." I laughed.

"Okay. Now go get ready for your interview."

"I am, I am." She said. I smiled and we hung up and I walked down the street to the bookstore.

Sofia was going to a job interview for a writer's company. One of us had to work and she was going to be the one to live her dream first. All the money I provided was from commercials I did. A few hundred dollars are good, but not enough. At least I'm still getting income.

I walked past many of the stores where models dominated. Maybe I should give up my dream of becoming an actress and take up modeling instead. Although, I don't think I could deal with only eating one piece of lettuce a day and constantly being pressured into being a stick.

I walked into the bookstore and walked down the aisles, looking for the specific book Sofia was always talking about. I found the books and smiled to myself, placing my fingers on its spine and pulling it from the shelf. It was some health book because we both decided we would be good at cooking. I also picked up a book for myself that looked interesting. I walked over to the counter and the lady scanned the book.

"No way. Is it really?" Some teen girl whispered. I slightly glanced over at her and her friend.

"Yes. Come on." Her friend whispered and they ran out of the store. I shrugged and turned back to the librarian.
