We walked down the beach for a little longer and there were a bunch of rides and stores. The sun had gone down and I put on my wedges as we walked off the beach.
"Question." He said.
"Okay," I said.
"Have you ever seen the skyline of L.A.?" I shook my head. "Would you like to?"
"Yes. I heard it's beautiful." I smiled and a grin crept upon his face.
"Okay, just so we're clear. You agreed to it." He grabbed my hand and confusion spread across my face. What did I agree to?
I assumed we were going to go on the top of a building or on a helicopter ride. My heart pounded as we walked down the street. We crossed the street and started to walk toward the giant slingshot ride.
"Uh, Harry, please don't tell me we're going on that." I felt the nervousness creeping inside of me.
"You said you would like to see the skyline." He looked at me and my eyes went wide.
"I thought you were talking about going on a building to see it, not this! No, no, no, Harry I don't want to go on that." I started to shake my head. He stopped and turned around to face me.
"Oh come on, it's going to be fun. It's spontaneous." He smirked, shrugging, and then smiling. "Don't forget that you agreed to it."
I should've known Harry would do something like this. Instead of being... normal, he decides to take me on a ride that literally blasts me off into space and brings me down to the earth, almost smashing me like a tomato. I didn't want to be embarrassing, but I was not a fan of big rides.
"Harry, did I forget to mention I'm so scared of heights?"
"Yes, you did... but it's going to be fine! I'll be right there next to you." I was trying not to freak out. I needed to be cool in front of him. I almost wanted to impress him, but heights were my least favorite thing.
"No, seriously, I will make a fool out of myself. I might throw up. Or pass out... Or cry. Or all of the above." I warned, trying to get him to listen.
"Aw, don't make me go all by myself." As we got closer, he stopped and looked at me while terror filled my eyes. I couldn't say no to him. He brought me out here and probably paid for it already. Saying no would be rude, but I could not tell myself to go on that ride. "If you really don't want to, then I won't make you." I looked at the ride and then at him, trying to tell myself we would be okay.
It was going to be fine. He placed his hands on my cheeks and grinned, making me melt in his hands. My heart pounded as he stared into my eyes. I felt so safe for some reason. I normally wouldn't be okay with someone touching me. His touch sent shivers down my spine. Like I said before, he's just a stranger and just because he's a celebrity, doesn't mean that he's any different than the average guy. Except he is.
"If you can't do it, then I understand." He assured me. I took a deep breath, lightly pulling his hands from my face.
"No, it's fine. You have to face your fears at some point, right?" I chuckled, but he could hear the small worry in my voice.
"I will be there the entire time. You can even hold onto me." He smiled and his words warmed my heart. "We can back out if you want..."
"No, let's go before I change my mind," I stated, beginning to walk toward the ride. He followed me. I rubbed my clammy hands, trying to breathe through my nerves. This was so stupid of me to be so nervous.
"You don't have to go on it just because I want to. This was just my idea of getting to know you." I looked over at him, a small breeze passing over my face.
