"You're nominated for a Golden Globe!" Linda shouted at me through the phone. I smiled as I tried to stuff a coat into my luggage.
"That's amazing to hear!" I laughed, trying to use my elbow this time. Harry saw my struggle and silently laughed, shaking his head as he came over to help. He gestured for me to continue my conversation while he took care of my luggage. I smiled, rubbing his shoulder as I walked out of the room and to the living room.
"Everly, this upcoming year is so huge for you. I don't think you got the action movie, but... I have another audition for you."
"That's okay. What's the new audition?"
"A drama. A sister and brother are set trying to find the man who put their father in jail, but he is a pro gambler and part of the mafia. It's set in Vegas. The script is better than it sounds. I'll send it over when you're not on your way to meet your boyfriend's family for the first time."
"That sounds awesome! I'm so excited!" I assured her, looking around Harry's living room.
"The only thing I have left to note... Did you happen to call the paparazzi yesterday?" She asked, clearing her throat.
"No. They keep showing up, which is weird because Harry said they're not that bad in London." I chuckled, running my fingers through my hair.
"Yeah, it's weird. You guys look great though. He didn't happen to tell Jeff where you guys were going?"
"I don't think so. Why? Do you think Jeff called them?" I laughed. Linda said nothing. My eyebrows pulled together, and I switched my phone to my left ear. "Why would he?"
"I-I don't know. I think it's weird. It doesn't matter because you look great anyway. Oh, did you happen to sign anything with him? I noticed that you're getting money from the publicity." She said and I heard her typing on her computer.
"Uh... maybe. I think something at the bar the night after The Late Late Show interview with Harry. Why? Was I not supposed to?"
"Okay, uh... it's fine. I was just checking. Next time just make sure you only sign when I'm there."
"Linda, you're freaking me out."
"No, I'm sorry. One of the receptionists told me someone was on the other line waiting for me. I'll call you back later. Please keep me updated on the family situation," she said, chuckling a little.
"Okay. Talk to you later."
"Bye." She quickly hung up, making me look at my phone in confusion. I was quickly distracted by another text coming through from Ryan. I ran my fingers through my hair, realizing I forgot to call him back last night. He and Sofia. But I was immediately annoyed when I read Ryan's text.
Ryan: If you didn't want to talk to me, whatever, but don't send your stupid ass boyfriend to do your dirty work. You're an adult.
Me: What the hell are you talking about?
I had no idea why Ryan was acting like I just randomly cut him off. I forgot to reply to one text, but he's acting like I just told him to fuck off. I heard Harry walking down the stairs with our suitcases.
Sofia: Girl, I think Jeff is calling the paparazzi.
Me: Why would you think that?
Sofia: Oh, nvm.
I was so lost in these conversations.
"Are you ready, darling?" Harry asked, walking over to me with my purse. "What's the matter?"
