"This way." He said. I turned to the spot he was gesturing to.

"You took me to the fair?" I looked over at him with a questioning look. He smiled at me.

"I told you I would. Come on." I smiled and he guided me to the ticket booth in front of the entrance.

"How much is a ticket?"

I couldn't let him keep paying for my stuff. He's paid for my ice cream, the slingshot, and the video, which I would like a copy of, lunch, breakfast, and now this. He scoffed and looked over at me as he pulled out his wallet from his back pocket. Again, he looked frustrated with my offer to pay.

"You think I'm going to let you pay?"

"Yes. It's not food." He glanced at me with a straight look on his face like I was stupid for even suggesting the idea that I should pay for myself.

"Please, stop asking to pay." We got into a line and waited, inching closer every few seconds.

"I can't let you keep paying for my stuff." He looked down at me as he grabbed two five-dollar bills.

"Why not?" I looked up at him and his eyes met mine, making me freeze for a second.

"Because I have money and it's not like this is a date." He smiled at me like he was amused by my words and he could play with them.

"Maybe it is. Maybe it's not." He was teasing me. His little games made me annoyed because of what he was making me feel. Was I supposed to feel butterflies and fireworks as I look into his beautiful green eyes, or was I supposed to brush off his comments and act as a friend?

"It's not," I confirmed. His eyes scanned me before he walked to the ticket booth and got two admissions tickets for us. He came back to me and held up the ticket.

"Here's yours." I reached for it, but he quickly pulled it away, coming closer to me before we were inches apart. My heart raced and all I could do was put a slight smile on my lips.

"What?"

"I just want to make it clear that you don't need to feel guilty for me paying for your stuff." His voice was low and deep.

"Okay..." I looked at his lips and then quickly looked back into his eyes. Flashbacks from our drunken kiss replayed in my head. Maybe I should've let the kiss continue. He slowly started to bring the ticket back into my grasp, but when I reached for it, he pulled it away again.

"I'm serious. You cannot offer, or object any of my payment." He looked into my eyes and I felt my face become hot.

"Harry, I like to pay for my own stuff. No matter what, I will object to your payments." He smiled down at me and handed me the ticket.

"I don't want you to." He corrected. He walked away from me and I followed him to the gate.

As we walked in, I looked around at all the glory. The rigged games, the big rides that could potentially kill us, the funnel cakes, live music. Everything felt like a dream and I shouldn't be here. Especially not with... him.

"You stay here while I go get the wristbands." He walked away to another ticket booth and I just watched him.

All he was doing was standing in line, but somehow, he made it look so perfect. The way he was squinting his eyes as he looked around, the way he was fidgeting with his fingers as he pulled out the money. His lips were slightly parted. I couldn't read him. Sofia is right. I should just have fun with him and let things happen. I shouldn't constantly be staring at him and thinking about him. It wasn't just his looks. He was so kind and sweet to me. He was caring and funny, which everyone loves. He was adventurous and calming. I haven't known him for that long, but as much as I could tell, he was someone who cared for people around him.
