"Don't even think about it. This plan will stir up chaos in the wolf world, and there's a real chance we won't make it out alive," my wolf said, her voice dripping with frustration.

"You doubt our abilities?" I challenged, raising an eyebrow. The question was as much about my own fears as it was about hers.

"No," she retorted. "I know we can take him down. But the whole pack? How do you plan to dodge the entire royal guard and the pack warriors? Last time, we only faced a fraction of them!"

"But we need this money," I said, my voice trembling as I whispered the words. "The amount we'll get will secure Ethan's future for his entire life. It's not for us; it's for him. He needs a future—away from us."

"Away from us? What are you planning, Davina?" she asked, each word heavy with disbelief and concern.

"We can't take him with us," I said, my voice steady despite the storm of emotions roiling inside me. "We're a danger to that innocent kid. We almost put his life at risk months ago. Ethan's an Alpha blood; he needs a pack. We can't provide that. If he's labeled a rogue, how will we protect him when they come after us? He already hates me. He'll think I'm dead, and it won't be long before he gives up."

My wolf fell silent, grappling with the weight of my words.

"I'm sorry for being such an incapable human... and for dragging you away from Ethan. I know you care for him; I do too." I felt the bitterness of my past decisions clawing at me, my voice cracking with emotion.

"Hey, D," she said softly, her tone soothing and filled with understanding. "Maybe you're right. With us, he'll never be safe. There will always be people coming for us, and while we can protect him, he doesn't deserve to live a life like ours—labeled as a rogue, always running and fighting for survival. Don't blame yourself. We're both responsible for this, and I know you'll be watching over him from afar. That's enough for me."

A small, sad smile tugged at my lips at her words. Despite her deadly nature, my wolf always knew how to comfort me in the darkest times.

I sat there for a few more minutes, letting the silence sink in, when a cry pierced the quiet from upstairs.

"Ethan ," I muttered, rushing upstairs to find Ethan huddled in the corner of his room, clearly distressed from another nightmare.

"What happened? another nightmare?" I asked gently, approaching him . Although its once in a while but since that night his pack was masscared , he had been suffering from nightmares .

He ran to me, clinging to me tightly. "It's new," he mumbled through his sobs.

"What was it " I asked softly, but he didn't respond. Eventually, he fell asleep, still holding onto me. I carefully tucked him into bed and settled on the sofa in front of him, watching over him as the dawn light slowly crept into the room.

--- few days later ----

I packed a few knives, a gun, and some clothes into a small backpack. Just then, I sensed a presence behind me. Ethan stood at the door, his gaze steely and resolute.

"This isn't good," I thought.

"I'll be gone for a few days. The bank cards and the knife are where they always are. Use them if necessary. I've set the house security to maximum, and if I don't—"

"You're not going anywhere," he interrupted, his voice firm and carrying the authority of his Alpha lineage.

I raised an eyebrow, taken aback by his determination.

"You're not going anywhere," he repeated with even more conviction.

I ignored him and started heading out.

"You're no different from those killers who attacked my pack, Davina. You're just going to take more innocent lives for money. We've had enough. If we run out, I have this," he said, holding up a small piggy bank. "And if this runs out too, I'll earn more the right way."

"Where did you get that money?" I asked, my shock evident.

"I saved up some, and... I sold my mother's pendant," he admitted, looking down. The pendant was the only memento he had of her, and my heart ached at the sacrifice he had made.

I felt a wave of guilt and sorrow wash over me. I had failed him once again.

I knelt to his level, my voice filled with sorrow. "I'm going to ask the Silvermoon pack's Alpha if we can stay with them. We can't run forever, and I'm done with killing," I said, taking his hands in mine. His face brightened with hope.

"Seriously? You're serious, Dav? I'm coming with you! I can't let you go alone. My father was an Alpha too. They'll help us!" he said, dashing to his room to pack his things.

"No, it's too dangerous. I can't take you with me. What if they attack you?" I argued, my voice rising with worry.

"Dangerous compared to you?" he asked, his eyes fixed on mine with unwavering trust. "Nothing will happen to me as long as you're here."

His trust warmed my heart despite the gravity of the situation. Before I could respond, he was already packing his things.

"Shit," I muttered again, taking a deep breath. It was time to make a decision.

"Now what?" my wolf asked, sensing my turmoil.

"Nothing changes. Alexander is still going to die by my hands," I said with resolute determination.

"What's going on in that head of yours?" she inquired, concern evident in her voice.

"We'll join the pack as Davina and kill the Alpha as Night. Not only will the Alpha die, but Davina will too. Faking my death will divert suspicion and ensure Ethan's safety. After that, I'll go after them," I said, shuddering at the thought of "them."

My wolf fell silent, the mention of "them" evoking dark and troubling memories.

Since my birth, I've been hunted by powerful and unknown creatures. Their motives remain a mystery, but all I know is they want something from me, and they can't have it.
