Alexander's POV
She was heavenly beautiful. Her beauty was enchanting—an ethereal mix of grace and strength. Her forest-green eyes were the epitome of innocence marred by struggle, a captivating contrast that drew me in. Her long hazel-brown hair flowed like a river, perfect in every way. I could have stared at her for eternity and it still wouldn't have been enough.
"Enchanting? Just like they say about Night?" my wolf interjected, his tone dripping with sarcasm. I growled, annoyed by the comparison.
"Shut up," I snapped, glaring at him. "Don't compare her to that murderer assassin. She is nothing like Night. I'll find that assassin and kill her by my own hands , avenge my guards myself."
"You're late" her melodious voice interrupted, cutting through the tension. My wolf's tail wagged involuntarily at her sweet tone. She was covered in blood, injured but defiant.
"She is injured because of you ," ,my wolf muttered as my eyes locked onto her. Despite the blood and injuries, she radiated a fierce, unique fighting spirit that set her apart from other wolves. My guards' gazes were fixed on her, their respect evident. I growled, loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Mine," I declared, marking her as my Luna. All heads bowed in submission, but she remained unmoved, her eyes reflecting confusion and something akin to disappointment.
Her reaction was unexpected. Before I could process her intent, she began to run, only to stop abruptly when I confronted her.
"Who are you running from?" I asked, stepping in front of her.
"You," she replied, her voice laden with an emotion that felt like a silver dagger piercing my skin. It was a painful realization that she saw me as a threat, and it stung deeply.
"I told you to be a little friendlier," my wolf chided, his tone flat but resonating with truth. "Your reputation has made her fear us. Of course, she's scared."
"You're mine, and I'll have you in the end, no matter where you run," I said, my voice harsh. I needed her to understand that there was no escape for her, no matter what.
Her eyes, mesmerizing and deep, held me captive. They were as forest-green as her scent, which enveloped me like a fresh, rain-soaked forest.
"What's your name?" I asked, drawing her closer by placing my hands on her waist. Her reaction was immediate; she tilted her head, eyeing my touch with suspicion. Before I could anticipate her move, she struck.
Davina's POV
The sensation of his hands on my waist was both strange and oddly pleasant. The warmth of his touch spread through me, contrasting sharply with the pain from my injuries.
I seized his hands, twisting his arm with my injured limb. Before I could press my advantage, his voice stopped me.
"Are you done, little mate?" he asked, arching an eyebrow as he turned me roughly, making me lose my grip. He pulled me close, pressing my back against his chest. The contact sent a wave of strange sparks over my back, momentarily dulling the pain. His head rested on my neck, and I felt his deep inhale before he reluctantly let me go.
"That child you brought is causing chaos in my living room," he said, his tone shifting as his guards left us.
"Play it well. We'll discuss it later," my wolf advised, her tone tinged with annoyance.
"Where is he?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady despite my uncertainty.
"In 'our' house. We should get you to a doctor," he said, emphasizing 'our' with a gaze that lingered on my injuries. For a fleeting moment, guilt flickered in his eyes, but it was quickly masked by his usual stoicism. I could sense he was arguing with his wolf.
