The night was dark, heavy with tension and impending danger. My senses were on high alert, my eyes glowing a fierce red as I took every precaution against detection. The risk of confronting an Alpha King demanded the utmost preparation. I carefully masked my scent, knowing it was essential to remain undetected. A silver knife was strapped to my side, its presence a stark reminder of the gravity of the situation.

I rarely felt the need to carry silver, but facing someone of Alex's caliber required extra caution. I pulled a small voice-changing device from my backpack and fastened it around my neck, disguising my voice to avoid recognition. The chest binder, a vital part of my disguise, was next. I glanced at myself in the mirror one last time. My hair was quickly gathered into a bun and covered by a black cap. The mask I wore left only my eyes exposed, a small sliver of my identity visible.

Dressed in a black hoodie and mask on my face, I felt a mixture of unease and determination. Charlie had informed me that Alex was out for a run, likely due to a failed conference with other packs. I locked the door behind me, seeking the plug-in board. My hand rested on it as I closed my eyes, channeling a surge of electrical energy. A spark ignited, beginning a slow build-up to a fire that would take an hour to fully develop.

I leaped from the window, maneuvering to the opposite side of the house. Repeating the process in three other rooms, I exerted additional power, ensuring the fire would spread rapidly. This wing of the house was usually vacant, so my actions wouldn't endanger any lives. Lastly, I made my way to the generator room near the parking lot. The fewer royal guards present, due to the ongoing patrol changes, made my task easier.

Inside the generator room, I disconnected a black-coated wire, causing a blackout that would plunge the entire town into chaos , this way nothing on electricity will work - wifi , cameras , lights - nothing . My heart raced with anticipation as I moved towards the woods, following Alex's scent. After a brief run, I found him—human form, clad in casual clothes.

For a moment, I watched him, a smile creeping onto my lips despite the dire circumstances. Alex seemed perfect in every way, his presence both alluring and intimidating. But then, his eyes met mine, and the smile faltered. Panic surged through me.

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the confrontation. Alex's growl cut through the night, raw with anger. "Who are you, and how dare you enter my pack?" His voice was a thunderous command. I chose silence, waiting for him to make the first move.

"Take a guess! Oh, let me give you a hint. What about asking those dead royal guards you sent after me?" My voice came out hoarse, dark, and heavy. It was exactly how I intended it to sound.

The fury in Alex's eyes was palpable, his blood boiling at the mention of his fallen guards. It took mere seconds for him to close the distance between us. He lunged, but I was quicker. I seized his hand as he reached for my neck, twisting his arm. To my surprise, he countered with a swift move, turning me around and locking my neck in his arm.

"Perfect. Let it begin then," I thought with a mix of dread and determination.

With a forceful kick, I broke free, landing a punch to his side that he deftly dodged. His claws were out, and his kick sent me stumbling. I felt the sharp pain as his claws tore through my chest binder, drawing blood. My body began the healing process immediately, but the agony was intense.

"How dare a murderer step onto my land. You won't make it out alive. I'll make sure of it," Alex snarled. His words pierced me like a knife. To him, I was a murderer. The accusation struck a deep chord, a painful realization that my actions were seen as monstrous.

"We are one, aren't we?" Daeliah, my inner wolf, spoke, her voice tinged with sorrow and anger.

We circled each other, the tension escalating. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. I could sense Alex's conflict, the struggle between his duty and his deeper feelings.
