okay?

" Why didn't you tell me?" I asked Josh as I grabbed my backpack heading to his car.

" You were mad. I didn't want to make it worse." He said keeping his bag on the roof of his car. " You coming?"

" Still, and yeah my car is out repairing and Rooney invited me over so oh well." I said getting in.

" Yeah okay. I found out last week. My throat started hurting alot and I thought it was nothing so I ignored it for a while until it became unbareable that I had to go to the doctor. He said an hour long surgery and one week recovery. The chances I won't be able to sing are low so that's good. "

" Woah. It's gonna be fine. We're gonna get you through this.  Are you gonna be able to perform?"

" Of course I am gonna try to, nothing's for sure with opening night being only a week away. If I wanna sing in it, it's best I go on full vocal rest, not even talking. "

" It's going to be fine. Stop talking" I giggled.

" Aliya? Hey what's up?" I asked as I answer my phone.

" You left me there. I have flight to catch come back and get me"

" Oops coming right back" I said as I kept my phone back in my pocket.

" Turn around Josh we forgot her!" I laughed.

" I seriously can't believe you forgetting me like this." she made a face getting in the car.

" Sorry" we said together.

...

" Drop me right here, you can go carry on with your stuff" she said getting out of the car.

" Bye Brooke, gonna miss you " she said hugging me.

" Me too, see you soon. Give me a call when you reach!" I said getting back in the car as she went inside my house.

" Let's go shall we Madeline?" He said in a French accent.

" Oui oui Shane allons-y" I said.

" Huh? You actually know French? I was just goofing around. What did you say?"

" Yeah I do I've been learning it since about 6 years now and I said yes yes we shall "

Giggles*

" Yo Brookie! Let's go we watch a movie now" Rooney said dancing around wearing sunglasses and surely her mom's scarf.

" Which movie?" I asked as I jumped into the sofa.

" Descendants?" Josh asked smiling at me.

" Oh my gosh. That's one of my favorite Disney movies."

" Mine too. Let's watch it please"  begged as he winked at me.

" Don't you have somewhere else to be? Actually no you don't but no singing please. " She groaned.

I rolled my eyes as I see Dave sitting in the corner.

Does he have to be here?

Technically...who cares?

We are a good team, me, Rooney, Ashley, Josh and..Dave.

I ignored him and the thoughts in my head and sat next to Josh and watched the movie.
...

" Ugh this is getting annoying I mean run Mal go faster! Why are you wasting you time singing?" Rooney yelled at the TV screen.

" You okay?" Dave asked her giving her a look.

" Yeah of course but seriously don't waste time singing. They just get up and start singing I mean what?"

" Um..Rooney that's the exact definition of a musical" I said as we laughed.

" Um guys I gotta go, as much as I am loving this, me and Brooke really have to go run lines before my vocal rest." Josh said holding my hand as we went up to his room.

" Hey, you new here? I am Shane I could show you around if you like."

" Hey yeah I'm Madeline and that'd be great. Thanks "

" So what kind of stuff do you like? Cheer? Sports?"

" Singing and dancing actually." I giggled.

" No way me too! You should sign up for this, it's a dance off we have every year where we even sing I thin---" he coughed.

"  Josh, are you okay?" I said sitting down next to him on his bed as I kept the script aside.

" Yeah let's run it again" he said in a very weird voice." Oh no." He sighed.

" Let's just call it a night and practice later. Are you sure you are okay though? Should we go to the doctor?" I asked as I grab my stuff and fill it in my bag.

" No no it's fine. I can handle it. Bye" he said holding his throat as he waved me goodbye.

I seriously think he isn't okay. Maybe he is just scared. Should I tell someone? But that will be going behind his back, but if he says he can handle it then I don't know what to do. He must have told everyone about his surgery....Right?

I quickly called my brother to come pick me up.

He is going to be fine. It's only a week more right. Ready set one week to go!
