And here we were at yet another funeral.
Although, unlike the last, Zayn actually showed up. He sat in the front row, such a smug look on his face. He had three guards surrounding him, who belonged to his estranged gang. He needed protection, especially since his father's gang wanted to get their hands upon him.
I found it hard to blame them.
It seemed as though Zayn's ability to communicate emotionally disappeared and he was only able to comply with two emotions; smugness and anger. He had no heart, no compassion or any regret that he had just murdered his father... Murdered the man who put him on this earth. But, it did confirm that there was no turning back. He was a changed man now.
Louis couldn't stop scowling at him whilst the minister spoke. You could practically see the planning in his head on how to get his hands around Zayn's neck. I felt terrible for Louis. He had lost his adoptive parents within days of each other and there was nothing he could do about it.
The familiar blackness within evil eyes were shown on Zayn. They were the only colour his eyes seemed to reflect from these past few days. Shark was really getting to him and we all took the plunge for it.
By the end of the ceremony, people were welcome to place a single rose on the casket before the burial. Harry and I seemed to be quick to get up there.
We glanced between each other, sombre eyes which could only be translated as devastated were exchanged. Yaser had done so much good for Harry and I.
When Louis and Zayn went to prison, he helped us get back onto our feet. He helped us plan the breakout, he helped us forget about the sadness. He showed me that there was a happiness away from the sadness. He had done so much for all of us it was almost uncanny that he was just... Gone.
"Sorry... About everything." Harry mutters awkwardly, glancing up at the dark grey sky on the verge of rainfall. "You didn't deserve it mate."
"You brought a nut-job into the world, I guess this is how you were repaid." I couldn't help but glare at Harry as he said this, a small chuckle coming to his lips. "I wouldn't be riding for this gang if it weren't for you. I owe you my entire life pretty much."
I sighed, watching him place down an almost wilted rose. Louis brushes up next to him, his eyes dark, grey-like bags were beneath his eyes and there was a certain hardness to his features.
"I'm sorry Dad." He sighs, glaring at the casket. He then glances up to his husband who smiles gently, trying to reassure him. "I-I know I wasn't a perfect son. Hell, I'm not even your blood. But I loved you somehow."
"You were a real bastard but you did so much for me. I know that and I'm happy at least. I'm happy that you get to be with mum again." The sky thunders and I watch Louis smirk up to the sky.
"Did I hit a nerve, Dad?" He snorts at the clouds as if he were talking to him. "I'm just... I'm just joking. Rest easy Malik. You and I had a good run."
I watch him place his rose on the casket next to Harry's. It seemed as though he was taking all of this as best he could. I really did feel for him.
"Fuck funerals." Louis then mutters, glancing up at his husband and I. I could see the redness now surrounding his pupil. I couldn't help but sigh out a sympathetic smile.
