Chapter 14

Maddie's P.O.V

I couldn't keep from staring at the swinging door. There was something she wasn't telling me. A big secret she was keeping from me. I was her very best friend, and I didn't understand why she would ever keep something from me. Expecially if it was something important.

I slowly roam over to the open door. I guess a little spying wouldn't be too bad....if it's just one time....

I dash towards the door. I run outside into the cold. The door swings shut behind me. I shiver, as I head in the direction I figured she might have gone in. I wasn't sure if it was the right way, but I guess I will find out soon.

Dani's P.O.V

Where the heck did he have to go, anyways? Why was he acting weird? Why did he run off? I roam around for a little bit longer, not sure where I was going. I guess I was hoping to run into him. But I knew, I probably wouldn't. So why was I still here, you ask? Well, a girl can try.

A cold breeze blew by. Gosh, why was it so cold? I thought New York was cold, but this? You would think California would be warmer.

I glance around. I wasn't sure where I was, but I refused to turn back. And, quite frankly, I had no idea which direction to go in. (A.N. Well obviously she has to choose one direction;D Sorry for the bad puns...ok, back to the story!)

I start to panick, as I walk farther. I seemed to be in some dark ally way. From here, I could see the forest. I shudder, as my eyes roam the dark entrance. I head towards a torn down looking brick building. All of a sudden though, I hear banging. And, the sound of crashing. I head in the direction of the sound, to investigate. (A.N. Don't do it.....OoO)

On the side of the building, there is big dumpsters, and trashcans. Fallen boxes surround it. It seemed like the boxes and trashcans were moving......and the sound was coming from them. I dare to get a bit closer.

An eerie green light was coming from there. I didn't wanna stay, or worse, get closer, but I didn't wanna go back either. Curiosity was over taking me.

Curiosity killed the cat, Dani.

Oh, you decided to come back?

Only for a little bit.

Greeaaattt. Well, I'm busy now, so I can't chit chat. So, see ya!

Yes, Dani. I see you too.......

Um........

...........

I take one small step closer. By now, there was a crack in the boxes and trashcans. A little clearing. The light was coming from there. I slowly get closer.

Don't do it, Dani! Don't get any closer!! Turn, and run!!

Sh** u*!!

............

And then, I heard it. Growling. No, crackling. A box suddenly falls, scaring the chiz out me. I jump, and then rush closer. And then I see it. A liquid pouring out from the trashcans. I lean down, and see it's red. Blood. I clamp a hand over my mouth, to keep from screaming. And then, I see it. A leg. A girl's leg. I follow it, and then see a boy crouched over a girl.

She was dead.

My mouth opens, but no sound comes out. The boy glances up. It's Harry. And he has red eyes. And fangs. I scream. He hisses, his fangs growing larger. I scream again, and turn, and run. I run, and I don't stop.

I tried to calm down. It was a costume, right? I did not just see Harry with fangs and red eyes. Take deep breaths, Dani. Deep breaths. This one big nightmare that I'll soon wake up from. I'll find myself in the comfort of my bed, and dad will make me some warm tea, and I can laugh at the ridiculous nightmare, that I thought was real. I'd wake up soon, right?
