Maddie's P.O.V
"How much longer to we have to walk?!" I complain. "We've been walking for hours!!"
"Maddie, it's been twenty minutes. Quit your whining and keep walking. We're almost there." Tori says. But she is way ahead of me. I groan, as I struggle to keep up.
"So what do we do when we find him?" I say, trying to strike a conversation, to keep my mind off my sore legs.
"Well, for one thing, I need to chat with him. And then maybe we could.....uh......find this..."Dani" that you know." She says. I squeal.
"Really?? You'll help me find her??" I say excitedly. She hesitates.
"Yeah, of course." She doesn't sound too sure. But I decided to let it slide for now, and believe it.
"Thanks so much, Tori! You don't know how much that means to me." I say, totally greatful. She just nods, and starts to speed up. I run to catch up with her. Something told me she wasn't too happy about helping me.

Soon, we came to a dark forest.
"Um.....we're not gonna go inside.....are we?" I say, nervously. She gives me a funny look.
"Of course, he lives in here." She says back. I gawk at her.
"Your frienamie lives in a forest?!" I say, shocked.
"Yeah...so?" I gulp. She studies me closley. "Why do you care? Are you scared?" Her lips twitched as a sly smile appeared on them. (A.N. lol Eric from Divergent moment:D "Everyone stop! You're gonna stand at the target, while he throws those knives. And if I see you flinch, you're out." ;D)
"What? No!! That's crazy!! C'mon, let's go inside." I say, but on the inside I'm terrified. I HATED forests.
"Ok." She says, and starts for the big iron gate that separated us from the forest. She takes hold of the handle, but the gate swings open on its own. I stare wide eyed at it. Tori doesn't look phased.
We slowly walk in, me slower than Tori. I glance around at my creepy surroundings. Despite the bright sun, only small streaks of it could get through the countless amount of tall trees. Our feet crunched on leaves, and stepped in squishy mud. The trees swayed, making an odd sound, and the bushes rustled, as if something, or someone was ready to jumpp out at us. I glance in front of me. Tori is far up ahead. I rush to catch up with her. The last thing I wanted was to get lost in these woods.
I started to feel tired, and slowed down a bit. Tori noticed, and slowed down, too. I leaned against a tree, to rest for a moment. My breaths were coming out too quick.
"Tired already?" Tori asks me with a smirk. I glare at her.
"Your friend is crazy." I say bitterly. She laughs.
"Yeah, I know." I sigh.
"Do you two even get along?" I wasn't in the mood for being stuck between two morons who kept fighting. I guess I wasn't in the mood for anything, though. Anything but sleep. Tori shrugs.
"Sometimes. But not usually." Grreeeaaattt.
"What do you two argue about?" I ask, hoping nothing major. Any trace of a smile disappeared off of Tori's face.
"None of your business." She snapped. She said it so fast, and so rude like, that I just stared at her for long time, shocked. When I found my voice to speak, I said,
"Ok, ok. Gosh, I was just asking." She looked down, her cheeks growing as red as her hair.
"Sorry." She mumbled. I just shrugged. This girl obviously had issues.
All of a sudden, we heed rustling. I my head shot up, along with Tori's. We both exchanged looks of fright. I was shocked to get one from Tori, because ever since I met her last night, she seemed fearless. I guess it takes a lot to get her scared.
Just then, a teenage boy steps out from the bushes. I let out a gasp, then clamp my hand over my mouth. He has spiked up jet black hair, pale skin, and blue eyes as bright as Tori's. I slowly look over to Tori, whose cheeks are now matching her hair color. She has a hand over her heart. The boy smirks.
"Austin you scared me!" Tori says, looking slightly shocked still. "I thought you were someone else." Austin rolls his eyes.
"And who else would I be?" She shrugs, and looks down embarrassed.
"Where were you these past few days? I was looking for you." He looked down.
"I was looking for you. I thought you were trying to avoid me after I told I was a vam-" Tori shoots him a panicked look, and he turns to face me, as if noticing me for the first time. "Um..nevermind. Who's she?"
"That's Maddie. I met her yesterday." He didn't look interested.
"Oh. Hey, um...can I talk to you for a sec?" He asks her. She nods, but stays put. "In....private." Ok. I see I'm not wanted. She looks at me nervously, but agrees. They head off deeper into the woods.
"Hey Tori, what about me?!" I call out to her.
"Just stay put, I'll be right back!" She calls back. I sink to the forest floor, my back still against the trunk of the tree.
I wait.
And wait.
And wait.
But she still doesn't come. I'm about to get up and and hunt them down, when all of a sudden, a girly scream come piercing in the air. I jump to my feet, suddenly. My head is spinning.
I regonized that scream.
It was Dani's.
