Chapter 38 : Fight For Us

Since then, I've been spending my days commuting from home, work, then the NCT mansion. I take care of Taeyong and supply him with my blood. Taeyong was worried that I was overtiring myself but I clapped back at him telling that a stabbed person isn't in a position to say anything about it. I was stubborn, I admit that. But I truly want him to get better quickly. Sometimes he wheezes in pain when he tries to sit up or when he walks to the toilet and it pains me to see that. Also, to be honest, it pains me more that I can't do anything more than this. Because I'm a mere human, I'm useless in this type of thing but I truly just wanna lessen the burden of the person I love. Stupid? Maybe.

Well, for now, I do like the small talks we have while my blood is transferred to the blood bag. We talk about my day at work, the little fights the dreamies had about food, how the weather is, simple little things. But once Taeyong finishes drinking, one of the brothers, mostly Jaehyun, would wait near the door and immediately that's my signal to go. At first I was confused by it. Taeyong always makes excuses for me to leave but actually I knew what they were talking about. They were discussing how to fight back. A plan for the next war with OPRØR. That scares me. Taeyong is stabbed now, but I can't imagine if something worse will happen to him. I caressed my necklace and held it to my chest. I will protect Yong. I picked up my phone, searched my contact list, and pressed the call button.

Y/N : "Hey, Seolhyun?"

#Taeyong's POV

I tried to stand up, but the pain was unbearable and I sat down immediately with a wince of pain. I crouched down but I heard the rushing footsteps towards me. I looked up and saw a flustered Y/N in front of me. It's funny how that pain was immediately submerged with her in sight.

Y/N : "Are you in pain!? What should I do!? Oppa! Taeil oppa!"

I chuckled seeing her so worried. These days, she's been taking care of me. I told her that she didn't need to cause I have plenty of brothers to but she insisted with her stubborn attitude as always. It's fun and truly I like it. But, everytime one of my brothers comes, I know that I should quickly go back to reality. The reality that Vescana has been conquered by OPRØR and the people are suffering. I failed, as a brother, as a lover, and as a king to protect them at the last battle. That's exactly why I need to hurry.

Y/N : "Hey, yong? Yong? TAEYONG!"

Taeyong : "Huh? Yeah?"

Y/N : "You okay? You've been spacing out a lot recently. Taeil just checked up on you and he said you are doing fine."

Taeyong : "I'm fine, sweety. Just some random thoughts here and there."

She looked at me with a concerned look, then pulled me by my neck and hugged me.

Y/N : "Don't think about anything. I know you're restless and blame yourself for the last battle but please just focus on healing right now. The quicker you're back to your old healthy self, you can fight back, okay? Also, you know, not only you who wants to quickly beat OPRØR's ass. I personally want to, myself."

Taeyong : "Y/N, I told u before"

Y/N : "Yeah, yeah, I heard it too many times, geez. That's exactly the thing though, cause I can't fight myself so you have to do it."

I pulled myself away from the hug and held her hands.

Y/N : "Honestly, yong, I'm scared of what will happen. The thought of me getting a call that you're gone is my nightmare."

Tears started to swell up in her eyes as she said that.

Y/N : "But since I have your heart right here with me, I have no choice but to trust you. So, once you get healthy, go and fight for us, okay?"

I quickly pulled her in for a hug where she started crying. I brushed her hair and thought that I'm so lucky to be able to fall in love with this girl. The crying girl who I met in a park at night is now crying in my arms.

Taeyong : "Hey, Y/N. You know I love you so much, right?"

She nodded and wiped her tears.

Taeyong : "I will fight for us and definitely come back to you. I promise."

A smile grew on her face. A smile that I will do anything to protect. Soon, I saw Jae near the door and it seems Y/N did too.

Y/N : "Guess I should go now, I'll head home."

Taeyong : "Ok, see you, sweety."

She kissed my cheek, grabbed her bag and waved at me. She conversed a bit with Jae and left.

Taeyong : "Ok, let's get down with business."
