Part 19: The Question

Ashtons POV

After Nic got done talking to her dad, we were still sat there. Her dad seemed a little hesitant after she told him that we wasn't a couple.

I would give anything to be her boyfriend. I've liked her since the first day I walked into our dorm but then she started seeing Noah and I didn't think I would have a chance. Now she ended things with Noah and we are expecting a baby together. I think it's time that I ask her to be my girlfriend.

An idea hit me while we was still sitting in her room. I should ask her fathers permission before I ask her. It would be the nicest thing to do and her family would respect me more.

"Sir, could I talk to you?"

"Call me Dave and sure. Come on we can go down the hall."

I got up and followed Nics dad out of her room. She gave me a questioning look but didn't say anything. We walked down to her parents room and Dave led us in and sat down on the bed.

"What is it that you want to talk about?" He asked.

"I was wanting your permission."

"My permission?"

"Yes. Your permission to date your daughter. I want to ask her to be my girlfriend but I thought I should ask you first." I was so nervous.

"I appreciate you asking. Of course you can date her. Heck you already got her pregnant." He said chuckling. I laughed with him.

"If i could redo what happened I would. I would ask her to be my girlfriend, then after a few years ask her to marry me, and then after the wedding we could've tried for a baby."

"That would've been the best thing but that's not what happened. God wanted you two to have a baby. It might not have been in either of your guys plans but it's happened. It will be the best thing thats ever happened to the two of you. I know Luke and Nikki was the greatest blessing in mine and Leanns life."

"Thank you sir. It means a lot."

"You know you don't have to call me sir. It makes me feel old."

"Okay Dave." I said and he smiled.

"Now what are you waiting for. Go make my daughter happy." I nodded and smiled as I walked out of the room.

Nic was laying in bed when I went into her room so I quietly shut her door not wanting to wake her if she was asleep. She wasn't asleep though. She rolled over and patted the bed beside of her. I went and laid down on her bed.

"What did you talk to my dad about?" She asked.

"It's a secret." I laugh.

"Humph. I don't like secrets." I chuckled at her. She sounded like a five year old when she said that.

"Well then I'm going to tell you a secret." I took a deep breath, nows the right time. I will ask this beautiful girl that's also the mother of my child, to be my girlfriend.

"When I walked into the dorm room and came face to face with you, I couldn't help but think of how beautiful you were. I wanted to be your friend. We had so much in common and you were so easy to talk to. We had all them talks about our past and i loved that you opened up to me. You didn't have to but you did. Seeing you get hurt by that guy and learning what he did to you, I wanted nothing more than to hurt him as much if not more than he hurt you. The time we first kissed I could feel all these electric shocks all over my body. I've never felt that before. I realized I had feelings for you. You started hanging with Noah so I didn't think I would have a chance but then you found out you was pregnant. And I was the one who got you pregnant. You said you ended things with Noah and I couldn't help but feel happy. I might have a chance after all."

I stopped to look at her face and I seen her eyes were watering. I reached up and wiped her tears away and continued.

"I went to ask your dad permission. I wanted to make sure that it was okay with him if I asked you. Nicole will you be my girlfriend?" I finish my speech and look at her.

"Ash. That was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. I have never been good with relationships but I'm willing to try with you. I really like you too. I felt the same thing with the kiss but I tried not to since we were friends. I would love to be your girlfriend." She finished.

I hugged her tight against me. "Goodnight my beautiful girlfriend." I said with a smile.

"And goodnight my handsome boyfriend." She said with a laugh. I wrapped my arms around her as she fell asleep.

She's my girlfriend. We are having a baby. Life is looking up. Now just to tell my parents.
