My Roommate

Part 28: Christmas Number Two

In the morning me and ash told his parents and Reagan goodbye. Reagan really wanted to go back to Florida with us over break but since we would have Addie, and josh is still staying with us we told her that there wasn't any space. I said that she can come stay over the summer and help with the baby. She was all for it.

We were given a very sleepy Addie to take back with us. I hope she doesn't miss her mom too much during the two weeks that she will be staying with us.

After ash had fastened Addie into her car seat we got in the truck and headed to Texas.

"When's your next appointment?" Ash asks me.

"Five days. That's why we have to go back to Florida so soon."

"Okay. I couldn't remember which day." He said.

"Yeah. Hopefully if we are lucky we can find out the genders." I smile.

"What are you hoping for?" Ash asked.

"I don't know. I've always wanted to have an older boy and then a younger girl that way the girl will always be protected. What about you?"

"I'm kinda hoping for one of each that way I can have a boy to teach sports to and a girl to spoil and be a daddy's girl." He said with a smile. I love that he's so excited for the babies.

"Are we there yet?" Came a tired voice from the back seat.

"Almost addie. Go back to sleep and when you wake up we will be there." Ash says softly.

"You know, you're great with her." I state.

"I've always loved being around younger kids. They are so interesting and so free spirited. They don't have to worry about anything. All they see is puppies and rainbows when they are that age." He says and I smile.

An hour later we are pulling up the drive to my house. Ash parks the truck behind the long line of my families cars. Ash picks up Addie and puts her on his hip. She's small for her age so he has no problems carrying her.

I knock on the door to my house and open it. We are greeted by a lot of shocked faces. I told them I was pregnant but I wasn't big then. Now I'm huge. "Sweetie you've gotten so big." My mom came up to hug me.

"Now who's this little girl?" My mom asked looking at Addie.

"This is Addie. She's ash's niece. We are watching her for a couple weeks while her mom is on a business trip." I say. She nods and leads us in the house.

We sat and ate dinner with my family before going into the family room to open our gifts. My family didn't do many gifts, we each got one. This year there seems to me a lot more boxes. Most of the boxes are sitting by me. I look around with a questionable look on my face.

"We decided to get things for the new baby." My mom explains. It turns out all the boxes was for Ash and I. My family had already opened there's before we got here. I let Addie help me and ash open all the boxes.

We got a lot of stuff for the baby. After Ash and I thanked everyone we took addie upstairs to my bedroom. Ash put her to sleep on the extra twin bed in my room and he crawled in beside me.

When I woke up ash was still asleep beside me so I didn't bother waking him up. I went downstairs to the kitchen where my mom and dad were sitting. "I'm proud of you sweetie." My mom says.

"Why's that mom?"

"Because look at you. You are all grown up and are now giving me a grandchild. You've came so far and already accomplished a lot."

"Thanks mom." I say.

"Your welcome sweetie. When are leaving again?"

"Tomorrow morning. I have my 20 week appointment in four days so we have to be back by then."
