Part 33: Bed Rest

"Is she okay? Are the babies okay?"

"She is still asleep from loosing so much blood but she will be fine. She is under strict bed rest due to her uterus stretching, it could result in a separation from the wall and that would be the worst thing. She needs to stay in the hospital so we can monitor her for a few days but then she can go home under strict supervision. She can't clean, cook or do any other chores. She needs to stay in bed the most she can. Moving around can make it worse. As long as she doesn't overdo it the babies will be fine." The doctor instructs.

"Can we go see her?" Luke asked.

"Sure. Follow me." We follow the doctor through a bunch of different hallways, finally coming to a stop in front of a room. We stepped inside and there laid a peaceful Nicole.

I can't even explain how much I love this girl. I couldn't live my life without her. That's a fact.

Nicole's pov

I heard talking and a faint beeping sound around me. I tried to open my eyes to see what was going on but I couldn't. My eyes felt like they each weighed a hundred pounds.

"I love you Nic. I always will. Please wake up soon. I want to see your beautiful eyes." I heard someone say to my right. It also sounded like they were crying. Was it ash? Why would he still love me if he was cheating on? I'm so confused right now. I got to figure out what's going on.

Instead of opening my eyes I moved my hand. I instantly felt someone's large hand grab mine. "Nic?" At the sound of his voice I tried to open my eyes again. This time I was able to open them to a squint. Everything was blurry but I could make out a figure hovering above me.

"Oh my god Nic! Your awake. I was so worried." I flinched at his touch.

"You-you cheated." I said. His face fell.

"What?"

"I seen you. You kissed this beautiful and skinny girl." Looking at him made me cry again.

"No, no you didn't. If you would've seen a second later, you would've seen me shove her off onto the ground. She came running up to me and told me some sob story that she had just been raped and she hugged me. I pushed her away and was about to walk back to the apartment when she grabbed me and kissed me. I didn't kiss back I promise. I shoved her off and she fell back onto the ground. I ran towards the apartment after that. I was going to tell you what happened but you wouldn't talk to me. I love you and only you."

"Ho-how c-can I believe y-you?" I'm now crying hysterically.

"Have I ever gave you a reason not to trust me? I've been by your side this whole time. You're carrying my kids, how could I possibly betray you? You're everything to me Nicole. Without you I wouldn't be me. I love you with every bone in a my body, you and the twins."

"How could you ever love me? I look like a whale."

"I don't care what you look like. To me you look like an angel. You're beautiful and you don't look like a whale. You're carrying two babies that will soon be born into this world." I smiled at him. How could I have thought he would cheat on me?

"I love you. I'm so sorry, I should've talked to you first." He comes over and hugs me. "Now, where am I?" I ask after he pulls back.

"You're in the hospital. You started bleeding and having pains. I brought you straight here and you passed out from loosing so much blood. The twins are fine but you're on strict bed rest and you can't move around a lot. You have a stretching uterus from carrying the twins and that can cause it too rip away from the wall." Ash tells me.

"Oh. The twins are fine?"

"Yes as long as you stay on bed rest."

"Thank god." I mutter.

Two days went by and I was finally released from the hospital. I had to lay in bed all day. Ash would bring me food and I did my work from home. Addie would come and nap with me throughout the day along with Mac.

It's been hell having to lay in bed. I was a very active person and laying in bed will be the death of me. But since it's for the twins health, I'm willing to do it. I want nothing more than the twins to be healthy when they are born.

"Hey Nic. Do you want grilled chicken or pasta tonight?" Ash popped his head in.

"What do you think Addie?" I looked down to Addie who was trying to read a book with my help.

"Chicken." Addie said.

"Alright. I'll start cooking it." Ash disappeared and I went back to helping Addie. She's pretty good at sounding out the syllables but she needs help with some bigger words. She's a very smart child.

"Dinners ready." Ash said as he came back in. He pecked next on the lips before taking the book from Addie and putting it on the bed beside us.

"Ewww. Don't kiws in fronta me." Addie said and we both laughed. She's so adorable it hurts sometimes.

"Let's go eat. The twins are hungry." I state and get off the bed ever so slowly and waddle to the kitchen. Normally Ash wouldn't even let me walk to the kitchen because of this stupid bed rest.

We sat down and ate grilled chicken, rice and asparagus. "Hey, hey!" Kayley said as she walked in. "Did you make extra?" She pouts.

"Of course. There's a plate in the oven." I smile.

"You will never believe what I saw today. Josh and I were walking around town and there was this man that had a clown costume on. He came up to us and said he was in labor but it was a guy and I just laughed. He kept following us and eventually I handed him my phone to call 911. It turns out that he was actually in labor and that it was a girl that looked so much like a guy. I apologized like a hundred times but I feel bad." I started busting out laughing. Leave it to kayley to run into the most awkward situations and make them even more awkward.
