Today's the day of our first appointment. We get to see the little baby that is growing inside me. I actually think ash is excited.

Right now I'm in the college bathrooms throwing up my breakfast. Morning sickness is no joke. After I can finally get away from the toilet, I change into a flowy blue summer dress. I feel really bloated so I picked something loose to wear.

Ash is waiting for me back in our dorm room

Ash is waiting for me back in our dorm room. He is going with me to the appointment. He's been very sweet for the past week. When I get hormonal and start crying he's always there to hold me. He's also not left my side. We go to class together, get food together and we are just always together.

"Can you drive my truck? It needs gas." I've become okay with ash driving my truck. He loves my truck and he's a good driver so I know he isn't going to wreck it on purpose or anything.

He nods and I toss him my keys. I slip on my white Birkenstock's and grab my wallet on the way out the door. We leave the dorms and go to where my truck is parked. I haven't started looking for an apartment yet. I'm afraid they are going to cost a lot and I don't want my parents paying for it. Normally the kids who rent the apartments always has roommates to help with the price.

I climb into my truck and ash drives off towards the doctors. I'm going to see a new doctor since I've never had to go to the obgyn. I hope she's nice and explains everything. I have no idea on what to really expect with my pregnancy.

Ash pulls into the hospital parking lot and we get out to walk inside. I have to fill out paperwork at the front desk before we can go to the waiting room. The waiting room consists of two other women that look like they are in their twenties. They both have a pregnant belly. When me and ash walk in they give us dirty looks. I guess I'm just going to have to get used to all the judgmental people.

"Nicole Winters." A short brown hair nurse calls out from the hallway. We get up and follow her through a series of halls before she stops us in front of a room. She takes me in there and checks my weight and height before she makes me sit on the bed. "The doctor will be in shortly." She says and leaves.

About 10 minutes later the doctors finally walks in. She's a younger doctor with black hair and glasses. "I'm doctor Hall. I'll be your doctor throughout your pregnancy. I'll need to ask you some questions and then we can do the ultrasound and see your baby."

"So, first, is this the dad?" She looks over to ash and I nod.

"Is there any type of medical problems in either of your families past?"

"Not that we know of."

"I see your weight is pretty low. Have you been eating more?"

"I just found out last week so I haven't been eating a lot but I've ate all my meals." She nods.

"Okay that's good but try to eat a little extra. After all your feeding two. Also you need to be taking prenatal vitamins." I nod.

"I'm going to run some tests and then we will get started with the ultrasound." She takes blood and then checks my vitals.

"Your vitals look good. I will call you within the next two days with the results of your blood tests. Now are you ready to see your baby?"

Me and ash both nod. He looks scared but also excited. "Can you raise up your dress?" I didn't choose this outfit wisely. I'm wearing thongs underneath and where ash's chair is positioned, he will be able to see it all.

"Uh yeah. Ash can you come up here?" He nods and stands up to walk over towards where my head is. He stands above me at my side. I pull my dress up and the doctor gets everything ready.

"This will be cold." She says and applies the really cold gel. I shiver as it hits my skin. I look up as the screen comes to life. I hear a sound that almost sounds like the ocean. "That's your baby right there." She says and points to a small jellybean looking thing on the screen. "And the sound you hear is the baby's heartbeat."

I let out a sob. Tears of joy is running down my face. Ash grabs onto my hand and I look up at him. He also has tears in his eyes. Seeing the baby and hearing the heartbeat made everything seem real. Before now nothing felt different. Ash wiped away the tears that were on my cheek.

The doctor sat me up and gave me a rag to wipe off the gel. "It looks like your about 8 weeks. So your due date will be around June 20." I smile thinking that I will have a summer baby. The timing will actually be good because I would just be finished with the school year so I could take the summer off and then do online schooling for the next semester in September.

"Your in you first trimester which means you will feel tired and bloated. You will also be very hormonal due to the imbalance of your hormones. It's all normal. You may have already experienced morning sickness. If not it will be starting soon. I'll give you some pamphlets explaining everything that I haven't. There's also a few social media groups on there that are very helpful."

"For now try not to stress over anything, take your prenatal and make sure you get enough sleep. Do you have any questions?" I shake my head no. "Then you two are good to go. Your next appointment will be in four weeks so that you will be entering your second trimester. If anything feels wrong or you start bleeding just come in." I nod and me and ash leaves.

He stayed quiet the whole way back to the dorms but he had a smile on his face. I think he is truly happy about the baby and if he's happy I'll be happy. It might be hard and challenging but what's life without a few challenges.
