Tokyo's POV.
"Em. . .W--What are you doing here? You're supposed to be at the dinner table waiting for me." I stutter in-between, trying to avoid his questioning eyes.
"I kept waiting for you, so I had to come here to see what's up with the food." He stays on the same spot.
"Oh, Okay. Well, here." I hand him the food, trying to hide everything.
"Okay? Thank you. What took you so long though?"
"Nothing. The timer didn't ring." I say immediately.
"Okay."
"Okay." I say back and go to the living room.
"How was your day? Any new update." He asked me while eating.
I rub my sweaty palms. "Nothing actually. Work is pretty much the same. No much stuff going on. How 'bout you?"
"You know, the usual stress with the company here and there. The foundation is growing faster than I expected. The board is also doing a fantastic job, I must say."
I smile warmly. "That's great. I'm happy that you're happy."
"Thanks. So, any plans for vacation this year?"
"But the kids--" I state worriedly.
He holds my hand. "The kids will be fine on their own. They're both grown-ups remember? They'll handle themselves on their own, with Hera of course."
"Are you sure about this? Wait, Hera's not coming with us?" My anxiety strikes again.
"Nope. It's just gonna be you and me. We'll enjoy the beach together, have our fun times like we used to." He winks and I calm down a bit.
"It's okay. Hurry up now, it's getting really late, almost twelve." I look at the clock.
"Oh boy. That's true. Who were you talking to on the phone a while back?" I stop thinking.
"Phone? Well, I--"
"You--"
"A colleague. We were discussing office matters. Nothing so serious though."
"A colleague? At this hour? I should believe that?"
I scratch my neck nervously. "Yeah. It's a minor discussion we had. Technical issues he wanted me to help with."
"But, I heard something like detective. Mind telling me what we need a detective for?"
Yep, I'm busted.
"What are you talking about?" I laugh nervously. "There was no talk with any detective. It was Greg that called me."
"Greg's now a detective? C'mon, I know you can lie better."
Lie better? I'm so dead for real.
"Take my phone, call Greg and see." I hand him my cellphone. He looks at me in the eye, searching for what I can't decipher.
"I should call him how, at night? He has a family."
I roll my eyes. "Of course he does. Let me be so honest with you. He's helping me with some work I couldn't finish. Just forget about it, would ya?"
"I'm going to bed. Join me?"
"Yeah, sure." I mutter.

I had to rush out early to beat traffic on the way. The road was so busy that I felt so frustrated. My husband now doubts me and I have to be on alert for any move Rose makes. I call the children to know how they are doing, when they reply that they are okay. I felt the need to check up on them and know everything.
Greg greets me as soon as I enter my office building. He takes my bag and smiles.
"Happy day for you Greg." I say to him as we enter the elevator. I click on the number three button that takes us to my office floor.
"Yep. I mean-- Yes ma'am. Good morning." He controls himself and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Morning. Okay, I'm happy you're happy." We both step out and I wave to my other colleagues.
"Yeah, Thanks. We've got a lot of partners to venture into our business. I guess we're making more money this year." He beams.
"Really? Wow! I'm glad to hear such exciting news." I balance on my chair comfortably.
"Me too. Another good news for you."
"Today is a good day for us huh?"
"It is. Has the detective called you yet?"
"No, I wanted to call him after my husband left to the room yesterday, but I couldn't. He kind of knows something is fishy between us." I bite my lower lip.
"Well, he told me that Rose has been caught."
"What?" I raise my voice.
"Rose has been caught. She tried abducting your daughter today and that's where he got her arrested."
I jump from my seat. "Oh God. Are you kidding or something?! Wait, she wanted to kidnap my daughter?!"
"Calm down. Relax. Take a deep breath now. Let me explain everything he said."
"Fine, I'm listening. Continue..."
"He was doing his usual investigation and watching then he saw a woman that covered her face with a black scarf. In his words, looks like a suspect. He then followed her untill he realized what she was about to do. That's leaves us to the news I just told you. Funny story, isn't it?" He laughs.
"Let me call the school. My daughter has to be safe." I pick up my phone in attempt to call them.
"No need," he stops me. "Your husband is with her right now as we speak. I guess you have a lot of explanation to do, ma'am."
A/n; Two more chapters and we are done here. Thanks for the reads so far!
I'm going to focus on my other book and see where that goes.
