*POV change: Third Person POV*
After the clock had struck midnight, the 5 friends threw back anther few rounds of shots and by around 1:30 they were struggling to stay awake.
One by one they dropped like flies, passing out by the amount of alcohol they drank finally taking a toll on them. All were asleep except Alice. From afar she would look peacefully asleep, but when you approach her you can see the blank expression across her face and the flatness of her chest, and wonder too if she were alive. With the fire slowly burning out and most of the lights in the house on, one would be curious as to what occurred throughout the night.
4 teenagers had drunk to celebrate a birthday.
1 teenager drank in an attempt to numb her mind and heart.
Alice was the drunkest of the bunch, but that didn't stop her dreams like she thought it would.
Alice sees the chaos, she hears the screams and counts the bodies as they drop around her. She's in shock witnessing the horror she was caught in the middle of.She sees the covers stipped off the sleeping woman, who perfectly resembles herself. She watches in horror as the knife first plummets into the girl's body. She's trying to calm her screams and cries as she watches a woman who looks like herself slowly die, feeling the pain as if it were her own.
And she finally broke when the enchanted blade plummeted into the body of the man who consumed her dreams, again feeling the pain tear through her, but not leaving a wound. She fails to look away as his body is placed in the circle and those 3 witches use their magic to place a curse on the already suffering Ezekiel.
Alice's sleeping expression is no longer blank but in pain. Her cheeks are stained with tears and her face is in distress.
Just as she watches his body freeze, stuck in a position with so much pain in his features, her eyes open, but shes still heavy with sleep. She rises from the floor where she laid, unaware of what she is really doing and eyes open, though not registering her actions. She slowly creeps through the house, navigating her way pass her sleeping friends and sliding the glass door open and then close again, walking out to the backyard.
She walks past the patio with a picnic table and chairs, past the small garden off to the side of the yard, and finally past the pool. She continues her journey, not feeling the cold seeping through her long-sleeve shirt and jeans.
Her movements are swift as she slowly enters the woods, following the voice that's been calling her since the beginning.
"Alice, please," It begged.
"Alice, I need you." It holds more pain and agony than ever before.
She walks further into the woods, stepping past fallen down trees and branches. The cold ground below her prevents the leaves from crankling beneath her feet as she steps. The small slice of the moon does not direct her as she continues.
"You are so close, my love."
She follows the voice through the endless woods.
"Alice, please, I need you."
She listens to his voice, calling out to her, giving her a path to follow in this dark night.
There are no animals in sight, all hiding away from what is about to happen, scared to be in sight of what she is about to awaken.
Just as she becomes within feet of a cave, the voice is at its loudest, it's suffering at its peak, "Alice, please, save me. Heal me, my love."
Without a struggle, she enters, finding her way into the pitch-black cave. She doesn't need the voice to guide her, for she can feel the pull tugging her to him. She slowly approaches the statue of a man in agony, eager to be set free. Eager to be healed.
Alice crouches down to reach the statue, matching the position he was frozen in, in her dreams. She hesitates before bringing her hand to him. She caresses his face as if she were trying to ease his pain, trying to comfort him.
Alice is oblivious to the ice-cold feel beneath her hand as she does not care. She brings her lips to his forehead, placing a soft kiss against the stone, "I am here, my love," she whispers. "You are safe" She stands and walks to the back of the man, crouching down again. She brings her hands to the dagger lodged in his back, piercing through his chest, wrapping her cold fingers around the handle. She pulls on it, tugging at it hoping to remove the one piece that caused so much pain to her mate. It easily slides from his frozen body, easing every ounce of pain from him. Once it's removed from his body, the dagger is dropped to the ground, and Alice's body falls with it.
