Pain.

It's all I feel, the only emotion consuming me and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I try to move, but it only intenifies the pain.

My breathes are labord and its becoming extreamly hard to breathe. I slowly look around the room, trying to gather where I am, but I only see a barren ceiling made of wood. With a struggled deep breath I turn my head, to get a better look at the room but I only grunt in pain.

I see a man rush to my side speaking a language I don't know, and yet I understand him perfectly.

"What are you doing! Stop moving it will only make the pain worse. The doctor says for you not to move," he says frantically, sitting beside me, placing a wet cloth on my forehead. The room is small and poorly put together, and the man beside me is dressed in shabby clothes.

"There is someone here, father," I croak out, but I don't think it was me speaking. It was my voice, and it came out of my mouth, but I did not think of the words.

And surly enough there is a knock at the door and the man beside me stands to open the creaky wooden door. How did I know someone was at the door, before they knocked?

The man I called father raises from my side and rushes to the door, "Who are you?" he says upon opening it.

"Dr. Lennox, I am here about your daughter." His voice is calm and collected...and I've heard it before.

"I do not remember asking you to visit. Every doctor within this village and our neighbors have attempted to cure my daughter, what makes you think you can?"

Where the hell am I?!

"Sir, I suggest you open this door and let me in" Dr. Lennox's voice was persuasive and my father opens the door to let him in, without a second thought. "Please give us some privacy," he walks closer to me and I gasp when I see his face.

Ezekiel.

He drops to his knees in front of me and I see a pained expression consume his features. He places his hand on my cheek, cupping it and I feel myself relax at his touch.

"Alice," he whispers as his eyes roam my body. The pain I am feeling somewhat dulls with him near. His face twists into anger and I have no idea why, until I force myself to do the same. Upon looking at my body, from straining my neck, I see makeshift casts and bandages, bruises and cuts, and I have no idea what happened.

"Do not panic, my love," he whispers, "I will heal you," his eyes plead mine, making me want to believe him. And for some reason I do.

He keeps his left hand on my cheek, gently stroking me with his thumb, and I watch as he brings his other wrist up to his mouth and...bites himself. I watch in shock as he pulls it away from his mouth, revealing what look like fangs, with a small amount of blood dripping from his mouth. He bings his wrist to me, and I try to back away, but his hold on my cheek keeps me planted. He puts his wrist onto my mouth and forces me to drink.

When I hesitate, he looks me in the eyes, "Drink, Alice," he says, almost...compelling me to do so.

And I do. I drink his blood for a reason I do not know.

After a few moments, he pulls away and its then that I feel the pain dull. The effort it takes to breathe soon becomes effortless and the pain it takes to crane my neck to take in my unknown surroundings, become painless.

I look him in the eyes, as my agony dissolves and I watch as his features shed of all sight of discomfort as well.

"Get out of my home, you devil's spawn," I look behind Ezek-Dr. Lennox and see my father with a pitchfork in hand, pointed directly at him. "Leave before you taint my daughter with your darkness," his voice angered by the scene that unfolded.
