The next few days were filled with starting my classes, hanging out with my friends, and getting to know Elias and Derek. Nothing was official with either of them but I was definitely catching feelings for both. Elias was the pretty boy. He got good grades all throughout high school, won a few championships, and was offered a spot on the basketball team at Georgia State. He was picture perfect in every way but I wanted to know more. Behind all that perfection there were flaws, I just had to get to them. Derek on the other hand. Complete opposite. From Harlem, real tough exterior, he wanted me to believe he was this hard, doesn't give a fuck type of person but I could see in the way he talked to me there was something deeper there, too. He had a good heart even if it was buried by the traumas he'd seen in his life.I laid on my bed typing away at my computer when someone knocked on the door. I figured it was Jaiya cuz she always forgets her room key but I opened the door to Elias instead.
"How'd you get in here," I laughed pulling him in. You weren't allowed into the building unless you lived here or the person you were coming to see got you from downstairs and walked back to their room with you.
"I know a few gals, one of them walked me up," he said, smirking. I dropped my smile hearing that and nodded my head taking a seat on my bed. "I'm playing with you, I caught Jaiya on her way up and she let me in," he said sitting next to me, pulling me into a hug.
"Mhm, and where is Jaiya now?" I asked, looking around dramatically.
"Over at Nova and Devyn's room cuz she wanted us to have our 'alone time'," he said, doing the air quotes around "alone time". I laughed knowing Jai would say something like that. Elias leaned back onto the bed, raising his arms above his head. "How are you," he asked, draping an arm around me. I sat criss cross on the bed with my Macbook in my lap finishing the last few sentences in an essay I had due at the end of the night.
"Umm," I said, finishing it and pressing send. "Good, now that that's turned in," I smiled looking down at him.
"Whatchu lookin at?" he said smartly, smiling up at me.
"Some funny looking dude in my bed," I rolled my eyes. He leaned over and wrapped his arms around my waist, pushing me over. I set my laptop down on the floor and climbed on top of him, punching him playfully. He draped one leg over his shoulder, picked me up, then slammed me into the bed, laughing the whole time he did it.
"You're crazy," I laughed with him, finally settling down.
"What the fuck did we walk into," Mia said, eyes wide, as her, Jai, Devyn, and Nova stood in the doorway watching us.
"This punk over here tryna wrestle me like I won't beat his ass!" I said pointing to Elias.
"You the only punk here," he said, grabbing me again but stopped.
