After a few hours spent at Derek's house helping him adjust I stopped at the boys dorms so I could see Elias. I hadn't talked to him in days and I decided to surprise him with food from his favorite restaurant and a little note I wrote. I wanted him to see this relationship was important to me even though he felt some type of way about the whole Derek situation. I had a few friends in the building and called one of them instead of Elias because I wanted him to be surprised. I thanked my friend, Kobe, for letting me in and headed up to the third floor where Elias' room was. I made sure my outfit looked right. I had on a black body suit that showed off some side boob, baggy jeans, and an oversized flannel. I knocked nervously on the door.
"Hold on," he said to someone in the room as he swung the door open.
"Surprise," I said holding the bag of food up. He looked shocked but not in a good way and closed the door some.
"What...what are you doing here?" he asked, looking worried.
"I brought us dinner, weirdo," I said pushing the door open some with my foot. It swung open a little farther than he wanted to because I could see Nova laying on his bed with only a bra and some sweat shorts on. I don't know what took over me but when I saw her lying there I just saw red and charged. I don't know where the food or the note went but I dropped everything and pulled her off the bed. Elias tried getting me off of her but not before I got my hits in.
"Stop it!" he said lifting me up.
"What the fuck is wrong with you two!?" I yelled, still not believing what I was seeing. Nova looked at me from the ground, her hair all messed up and backed away. I kicked the bag of food over and walked out the door with Elias on my heels.
"Baby, come here," he said trying to grab me but it was my turn to pull away from him. "Let me explain please," he said and I turned around only so I could look him in the eyes when he tried to make up a story. "It's not what it looks like I swear. We were just hanging out. We've been doing that the past few days since you've been with Derek so much," he said trying to throw Derek into it. I took a deep breath then slapped him across the face as hard as I could.
"Don't ever talk to me again," I said walking towards the elevators. As soon as he couldn't see me I broke down crying. In the car, I sat there for a while too angry and too sad to drive. I finally was able to grab my phone and call Jaiya.
"You leaving Derek's?" she asked not knowing I had left there a minute ago.
"No, I'm on my way back to the dorm," I sniffled.
"What happened? What'd he do this time??" she asked assuming it was Derek again.
"It wasn't him. I'll tell you about it when I get there. Don't let Nova in the room and tell Devyn not to let her in theirs yet either. I'll explain when I get there," I said and hung up. This was definitely not how I saw my night ending.
When I got to my room, Mia, Jai, and Devyn were all sitting in there waiting for me.
"What the fuck happened? Where's Nova? What'd she do?" Mia asked all at once.
"I went to Elias' room to bring him some food and he was acting funny not tryna let me in and," I stopped and started crying too hard to continue speaking. "She was in there," I finally got out and Mia and Jai engulfed me in a hug. Devyn just got up and went across the hall to her room.
"Go get her Mia she's gonna fuck up Nova's stuff!" Jaiya said already knowing how Devyn was.
"Let her, the fuck," Mia said probably wanting to join in. Jai sighed and ran over there to stop Devyn before she got herself kicked out the dorms. Mia sat on the bed with me rubbing my back as I cried some more.
"What was she doing when you walked in?" she asked, trying to understand exactly what happened.
"Laying there half naked in his bed," I said, getting angry just thinking about it.
"What'd you do?" she asked as Devyn and Jaiya walked back in.
"Beat her ass as best as I could before Elias pulled me off her," I said with no emotion. I didn't feel bad at all for fighting her. She was in the wrong just as much as he was cuz she was my so called friend.
"Period! That's what we like to hear!" Devyn said finally speaking. "She has round two coming whenever she decides to show her face in our dorm again, I promise you that," she added, making me chuckle a little.
"So what did Elias say about everything?" Mia asked me.
"'It isn't what it looks like we've just been hanging out since you've been spending so much time with Derek,'" I said in my best "Elias" voice.
"Fuck no he tried to turn it on you. You've been helping a friend NOT SLEEPING WITH ONE," Jaiya said frustrated.
"I really loved him," I started crying again and they all leaned in hugging me. "He was like my best friend, I really trusted him," I said between cries. "And Nova!? We may not have been as close as I am with you guys but bitch you knew what the fuck you were doing and you knew you were wrong," I shook my head still not believing. All those times we were all at the hospital for Derek the nigga she claimed she was with was mine.
"She'll get what she has coming. Trust and believe that," Devyn said shaking her head with me.
"No D, I don't want you getting in trouble over me," I said honestly. I wasn't sure if Nova was the type to go to the school about what happened but if she was I wanted it to just be me getting punished, not all of us. My phone started ringing and Jai grabbed it for me letting me know Derek was calling.
"Ignore it," I said without thought. I didn't feel like talking to him right now. Or for a long time. I felt like if he would've never gone to the hospital or never put me down as a contact my life would still be the way I wanted. I still silently said a prayer hoping it wasn't something urgent, especially something regarding his health. Right now I just needed to spend time with my girls. I quickly realized who was real and who wasn't. And I was done with all niggas for a while after this. It was time to focus on me.
