As soon as sophomore year started everything moved a hundred times faster than before. Derek was on track to graduate, the girls and I fully moved into our apartment, Damon got the results of the paternity test back and Chanel was his but we all knew it, Gelo and Jaiya weren't official but they were exclusive, and Clyde's men had all but disappeared. It was already the second semester and I was just tryna commit to a major.

"Baby, I told you business. You the most ambitious person I know, you could run multiple businesses," Derek said encouragingly. I liked the sound of business but I wasn't 100% sold on it. And I felt like if it was something I'd be doing for the rest of my life I needed to be 100% sold on it. "We can have business degrees together. Start a lil A & D company," he cheesed in my face.

"I'm thinking about it. I did really like the business class I took last semester," I confessed. Derek had been pushing for me to get a business degree ever since I took that class. "A & D" was what he called our imaginary business that might never happen. He had this vision that we'd own a bunch of clubs, run traps together, and be a hood Bonnie and Clyde but he also knew I wanted him to leave the game, not bring me into it.

"We could be the ultimate drug lords," he joked, flopping on the bed. I side eyed him and continued flipping through my textbook.

"I want you to leave this shit behind. You know that. You told me you'd think about cutting ties with Rodney months ago,"

"I know, and I'm still thinking," he grinned. I gave him a blank look. This wasn't a joke to me. "Look ma, with Chanel now I gotta think about more than just me, you and Dame. She's damn near our daughter too. If cutting ties with Rodney means putting any of y'all in danger I'm not even gonna think on it,"

"So it's a lose lose. Cuz either way we're all at risk,"

"If I can find a way to leave it all without there being repercussions I would do it. I just haven't found a way out yet," he kissed the top of my head and left the room on that note. I understood why he couldn't just drop everything and leave for me but if Rodney was any kind of a friend to him he'd let him go. I decided to take matters into my own hands for once and call Rodney.

"What's wrong?" he asked as soon as he answered the phone.

"Nothing, why are you answering the phone like that," I rolled my eyes.

"If you wanna talk you call Bianca, if you have a problem you call me. So what's wrong?" he asked again.

"Ugh, fine. I need to talk to you about something really important. I think it'd be better if we talked in person though,"

"I'm getting shit ready for a drop over here at Roman's trap. Stop by in like 30," he said and hung up. Him and Derek always hung up before you could respond to whatever they had just said. It was annoying but I admired the fact that they really didn't give a fuck.
