"Kill Rodney. What the fuck are you talking about, no repercussions? How do you sound?" he said annoyed. He tried walking away but I grabbed him and pulled him back."I went to talk to him about what you could do to get out of this clean and he said kill him which I thought sounded crazy because he's Rodney. He's mean but he's Rodney and then he went and shot Kingston right in front of me and laughed and walked over him like he was nothing. Where is his loyalty? He clearly doesn't have any. We might as well kill him so he can't hurt anymore of us," I spit out in one breath.
"You are actually crazy. I've realized it now. You're crazy," he said shaking his head at me.
"What if that was Damon?" I asked and that grabbed his attention. "He doesn't care about anyone but himself. I've always known that but I thought since you were so close nothing would happen to us but you've always told me never to trust anyone," he nodded his head. He was constantly telling me we had each other in this. Everyone else was temporary and I had to keep my eye out. I questioned if he trusted even Damon sometimes. I guess it was a part of the life he lived, which was yet another reason to not be a part of it. I wanted to trust my friends. With my secrets and my life and the more I saw people's true colors the more I knew if they were wrapped up in this I couldn't. "If I hadn't been there tonight, Kingston would be dead," I spoke, coming to terms with that truth. Everyone kept going like he wasn't even there.
Derek was quiet for a long time and I could see he was putting the pieces together in his head.
"Ok," he finally spoke.
"We'll kill Rodney?" I asked, not even realizing all the weight that carried. I'd never talk about death let alone killing someone before I met Derek but some things had to be done.
"No. I will kill him," he emphasized the "I" part and walked back over to Damon and Mario. I followed him and sat down, letting it sink in that yet again we were in a hospital praying one of our friends walked out of here alive.
The rest of the week Derek and Damon brainstormed behind closed doors while I visited Kingston in the hospital. He lost a lot of blood that night and the doctors said his heart stopped shortly after I brought him in but they were able to resuscitate. Without me getting there when I did he would've been gone.
I kept the plans we had for Rodney to myself. The girls, Gelo and Mario, even Kingston didn't know Derek and Damon were planning something. The less people that knew the better.
"Baby, come here!" Derek called. He was having one of his secret meetings with Damon. I jumped off the couch, excited that he called me up there.
"Can you grab me some juice?" he asked and I mugged him.
"Not unless you tell me the plan," I said, smartly. He sucked his teeth and waved me off. I turned to Damon and gave him my best puppy dog eyes.
"Don't even look at me like that," he laughed. "Chanel be looking at me like that, too. I'm immune," he said, throwing his hands up. I flipped him off and jumped on top of Derek in the bed. "Do I need to step out?" Damon said, standing up from the loveseat.
"No. I just think since this was my idea I should at least know the plan," I huffed.
"Correction. It was Rodney's idea," Derek stated. I laid my head on his chest and pouted. "It don't work on me either. Chanel got you beat," he laughed. I loved that little girl but she was stealing my thunder.
"This is finna sound crazy but what if we used Mora as a distraction?" Damon spoke, suddenly.
"No," Derek responded with no thought.
"She already met with him once. What if she makes it seem like she's tryna have a follow up," he continued.
"All good except for the fact that he shot Kingston and Mora was the only one that helped. He's finna know something is up if she walks back in there like everything is coo," Derek said. He had a point. I couldn't be used as anything. Rodney would smell a setup a mile away if he saw me.
"What if the meeting isn't with him," I said, perking up. They both looked at me sideways. "Bianca. He's always over there. And he's most vulnerable,"
"Her house is guarded harder than anyone else," Derek spoke. I smiled putting everything together in my head.
"By who?" I asked.
"What?" Damon looked at me confused.
"Who's always guarding the house?"
"Kingston," Derek cheesed, catching on. "And Gelo and Mario," he sat up, making me sit up too and wrapped his arms around me. "You got some brains up here after all," he teased, mushing my head. I pushed him away but smiled. I really liked Bianca and felt bad for dragging her into this, but I'd do anything to protect my own.
