Chapter 18: Test of Courage?

The Next Day
8:00 AM

"So, everyone's improving on their quirks?" Laura asked Aizawa sensei as she watched both class A and B pushing their limits.

Aizawa nodded at the young Mexican girl. "Yes... would you like to join them?"

She looked at the hell that is before her, disturbed by the intensity of the training.

I would want to test my adamantium claws on Kirishima san, but Ojiro seems to already be training with him. Not only that, but because I'm scared that my claws might just casually cut through him like cutting paper with a pair of scissors.

Laura chuckled nervously. "I think I've had enough training from my old days, so maybe not..." she looks at her classmates, training their hearts out, and decided. "Actually... I'll go improve my agility over there." She said as she pointed at an area where there were no other students around.

"Go ahead." Aizawa replied with a shrug.

Laura nodded and walked towards to the forest area, going behind the trees until she was completely by herself. She sighed and looked around her, seeing the trees around her.

She stretches before letting her claws out.

"I'm sure it's fine that I cut down a few trees."

The Day After

"Test of courage?" Laura asked, looking at Pixiebob.

"That's right!" Pixiebob shouted with a wide grin.

"Is that like... are we fighting big monsters again?" Laura asked, confused about what a 'test of courage' is, causing everyone to stare at her in disbelief.

"It's like a haunted house." The blue cat heroine explained in simpler terms.

"I... I don't know what that is... sorry."

"You'll figures it out once we start it, ok?"

"Is you say so..."

Later

"Gently... gently..." Laura says to herself as she used her claws to cut the vegetables on the cutting board, without cutting the cutting board as well... same goes for the table.

She turned to her right to see Bakugo cutting vegetables as well, shocked to see the speed of him chopping.

"Whoa, Bakugo, you're really good at this," Laura complimented the ash blond haired boy.

"Of course I am, I'm the best!" Bakugo exploded as he started chopping the vegetables faster.

Laura couldn't help but giggle at Bakugo's behaviour.

"Laura-chan, I still can't believe you never done a test of courage before!" Ochako marvelled at the Mexican girl.

Laura shook her head. "No... Mina tried to explain it to me, but I've never seen a horror movie, so I couldn't understand."

"Well, the name already explains it for you." Ochako giggles at her.

While the two girls were talking, Shoji took a glance at her while he was helping with preparing the food.

"Oi, oi, this test of courage is your chance, Mezo~." Sero nudges at Shoji.

"Hmm?" Shoji looks down at Sero. "What do you mean?"

"Come one~, you serious?" Kaminari joins in, chuckling and patting Shoji's big arms. "Laura may seem like a cool and chill chica, but I bet she has a hidden scaredy-cat side to her."

"I don't get where you're going with this." Shoji crosses his arms at the two.

Kaminari clicks his tongue and shakes his head. "Here, imagine this:"

It's night out, and Laura and Shoji was walking down the dirt path in the dark forest. Laura was holding her arms against her chest, shivering in fear.

"Scared?" Shoji asked, startling Laura, making her jump a little bit.

"M-Me? No, no, no, I'm not scared of something like—"

A person wearing a white blanket over them with two holes in it jumped out of a bush, shouting, "BOO!", at the two, scaring Laura, making her shriek and grab onto Shoji's arms tightly.

"Kyaaa!!! Shoji kun!!!" Laura whimpers into his arm.

Shoji then pulls her close towards him, his face looking down at Laura as she blushes brightly at him.

"I'll protect you, Laura~."

"Wait, what is this shojo manga setting?" Sero asked Kaminari.

"Shut up, Sero!" Kaminari shouted at him.

"I don't think Laura is like that," Shoji disagrees with Kaminari.

Kirishima overheard their conversation and decided to join them. "He's right, Laura is one tough girl," he continued. "It would probably go like this:"

"Hey, Shoji." Laura said, poking at Shoji's arm and pointing at a bush. "Is it me or does that bush smell Ike Axe body spray?"

"She does have sensitive senses," Kaminari nodded in agreement. "But that doesn't matter! You and Laura are gonna be alone together again!"

"You know what that means, right?" Asked Mineta who suddenly appeared next to Kaminari. "Imagine this, gentlemen:"

"S-Shoji kun..." Laura stops Shoji, making him turn around to face the short Mexican girl.

"Yes?" He asked her.

Laura unbuttons a few buttons on her red plaid shirt to show some cleavage to Shoji, twirling her long black hair around her index finger. "How about we have a test of courage of our own behind those bushes~?"

"No, no, no!" Kirishima stops Mineta by covering his mouth. "S-Sorry, Shoji, I should've known he would say something like that—" he looks at Shoji and jaw dropped at the multiple arms covering the tall student's face.

Later

"I'm really excited for this test of courage!" Laura chirped. "Do you think they'll be coming at us with chainsaws and machetes? Ooo~! What if they make us play a game of death, like in that Saw movie Mina told me about?!"

"I don't think they'll be doing anything like that." Shoji said softly.

"Then will they come out of a tv and take my soul?"

"You really think they'll have ghosts for a test of courage?"

Laura giggles softly. "I'm sorry, I'm just excited!"

Shoji nodded as they were next to take the test of courage. Once they entered the forest, Shoji felt Laura's small hand clasp onto his larger one. Her cheeks were slightly red.

"C-Can't have us split up," Laura chuckled a bit.

"R-Right," Shoji replied as they continued to walk the dirt path.

While everyone was enjoying the fun of the night, they were being watched from a distance.

"Hope you're all ready," Dabi said with a small grin. He turned to look at a man wearing a white cloak and a skull mask. "Ready, skull boy?"

The skull-masked man snarled and looked at Dabi. "It's 'Taskmaster'."
