My chest slammed up and down as I ran behind Elena and Caroline in the school hallways. Stefan was beside me, making sure Tyler wouldn't get ahold of any of us. Tyler rammer the door behind us open and ran into the hallway. "TURN!" I yelled. Caroline and Elena ran through another set of doors and Stefan helped me close them before Tyler caught up. I took the fire ax and stuck it in the door handles, making it hard to open the door. But it wouldn't hold him. Tyler's growls rung through our ears. He was frustrated and ramming into the door.

The door began denting and opening. "We need to go. Elena ripped off a locker door and sticks it through the door handles. Stefan and Elena backed away from the door and stared at each other. "Charge on three." I mouthed. They nodded. "One...two...three!" We charged at the door, banging it shut. It became quiet. "Okay. Let's go." I whispered. We ran down the hall until we heard Bonnie Bennett scream.

"Someone help!" She cried. I ran into the science lab. She was holding a limp body, the same girl who helped Rebekah. Stefan came in right behind me, then Elena. She kneeled down beside them. "Bonnie, what's going on?" She asked. "She needs help." Bonnie pointed out. "What happened?" I asked, placing my wrist in my mouth. "I did a protection spell, but it accidentally linked Shane to April. I couldn't control it. didn't know I was doing it. Usually, I feel pain or I bleed, but this time I just felt more power." The witch explained. I put my wrist in the girl's mouth. She sat up, petrified and shaking.

"It's okay, it's okay! You're okay, you're okay." Stefan told her. "Bonnie, get out of the school. Just be careful. Tyler's out there, and he turned." He instructed. "I'll guide her out. We can't leave, Rebekah compelled us, but I can help you." I offered. Bonnie nodded and helped herself and April up. Bonnie stared at Elena as we walked out and the door shut. "Ready?" I whispered. She nodded and we began quietly walking towards the entrance.

I ran back to the lab, unfortunately at a human rate. Ugh, this sucks. I made it back to watch Rebekah and Stefan argue. "...There's a solution to all your problems, you know. I could compel him. Erase every memory he has of you...every day you spent together, every kiss, every lie, every ounce of pain...I could take away every bit of love he has for you. Give you both a clean slate. Just say the word, and I'll make you and all that misery you caused him to disappear." Rebekah told Elena. "Do it." Stefan accepted immediately. "What? No!" Elena yelled. "I said do it." Stefan ignored her.

"No. That'd be far too easy. I refuse to make you forget her the way Klaus made you forget me. Consider your eternity of pain my revenge, Stefan. I've used you for all you're worth, so now, you're free to go." Rebekah stepped out of the way. Stefan grabbed my arm to turn me around. I followed him and Elena called after us.

We went back to the Salvatore Boarding House and drowned ourselves in drinks. Stefan and I didn't really talk. At all. Nothing. He was mostly on his phone. I hated this silence. "Stefan--" I began. "You know I would have done anything for her? Yeah, I would have swum the ocean if it meant getting to her and she slept with Damon. She's in love with my brother." He ranted. "I know and I'm sor-"

"She wasn't Katherine. She was my everything. She was different." He stood up and threw his glass into the fireplace angrily. I stood up and walked over to him. "Hey hey hey," I whispered. His tears filled up with tears. I cupped my hands around his face to comfort him and wiped his tears away with my thumb. "What did I do wrong? I-I-I knew there was something different but this--- this hurt me. I-I thought we could fix it, I thought we would last." He asked. "Hey, shhh..." I cooed. "You didn't do anything wrong, Stefan. Things change. It's either a good or bad thing but you always have to be ready for it. Something good will happen soon. You have to be ready for that too." I told him sternly. He nodded.

"I'll get you some water, okay?" I offered. "Okay." He said. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a new glass, poured some water into it, and brought it back to him. When I came back, Rebekah was standing on the step between the parlor and the front door. "You still wanna find the cure?" Stefan asked her. "More than anything. I want to ram it down Niklaus' throat and look into his eyes as he realizes he's mortal again. But Shane's dead, and you are useless. So, I'm right back where I started." She scoffed, walking over to me and grabbing the glass from my hand. She took a sip and handed it back to me. "Shane isn't dead."
