Chapter 11

Me and Skylar went to Zoi's house, I knew Skylar would tease her because now that I'm Zoi's mate. We knocked on the door to see Zoi's mom, Melise .

"Oh, hi you girls. " Mrs. McCollin greeted us.

"Morning Mrs.Mchollin, is Zoi's up?" Skylar greeted and asked her.

"No, but wait. I will wake her up before that, come in. I just exactly prepared breakfast for us." She let us into the living room and waited as she called Zoi.

I noticed that Skylar was so excited to the point that she was eyeing me then smirking which made me sigh since she has a plan to tease Zoi in front of me. I just let it go until I heard Zoi's footsteps coming down stairs. She was running, that's why I can hear them so loud.

You know what happened next at the dining area, the commotion that Skylar did and plan. I never knew it would turn out like this. Skylar was having fun but on the other hand, Zoi was very angry. Her eyes are bloodshot which makes me worry about Skylar's well being. But knowing Skylar, she's not afraid to die but losing a mate that scares her more. I sighed heavily before I quickly stood up from my seat and attempted to calm Zoi's temper. Zoi turned to me and those eyes didn't want me to be disappointed or angry then she collapsed again. Her mother, Melise, immediately caught her daughter before she hit the ground. I was about to go to her when Melise raised her hand as a signal to stop me from coming any closer then she took her daughter to Zoi's room. Our breakfast turned quiet but those hours of silent breakfast Skylar stood up from her seat then put the dishes at the sink before turning to me.

"Sorry Mal but you know the reason why I did that." She said with guilt in her tone

"I know but shut up for a moment please." I told her with my angry voice which made her smirk.

"What?" I asked in anger but confused on her smirk.

"Nothing. But she needs to control herself and you know that well." Skylar pointed out that I know the meaning of her tone. She's telling that as her beta and witch.

When Melise came down, she just gave us a nod as the sign that Zoi was in good shape but I am not totally convinced. I was about to ask why she took her long enough to inform us about Zoi status when Skylar beat me up to it.

"Sorry for that since I never intend to hurt her or anything. But as her, being your daughter, she has to go through a lot of big changes and she needs to compose herself when that time comes." Skylar explained her reasons for doing that teasing plan of hers.

"I know and it's okay, Skylar. You'll be a good alpha in your pack because of how you observe and handle things." Melise smiled at Skylar's personality.

"I am trying to be one but I'm still missing something." Skylar said.

"A luna will complete that." Melise continued.

"Speaking of my daughter, she's in her slumber for an hour and it took me a while to come down because I asked the goddess why it was happening to my daughter." She assured us that made me feel so relieved.

"But like you said, she's going through big changes and her losing her temper wasn't helping that. Also, Skylar, if you do that again, you will pay the price that can kill your entire pack." Melise stated but also warned Skylar which she just smiled.

Skylar said nothing but watching Skylar, she's hiding something that none of us know what was it. But seeing this tension building up, I have to break the ice.

"Mrs. McCollins, when Zoi's gonna wake up?" I asked which made her look at me with soft eyes but the anger was still there.

"Maybe it will take another hour before she wakes up." Melise answered.

"I will wait for her to wake up." I insisted which made her turn to Skylar who was just calm and collected as always.

"How about you Skylar of the Moon Shadow pack?" she asked which Skylar smiled.

"My family doesn't have any clue of who I am, Queen Melise McCollins. I'm just here to see my mate and check out Mageia." Skylar replied with such authority like Melise has.

I don't know what was happening to my best friend since she wasn't like this in front of any adults. Maybe she found her mate, I think.

"You..." Melise was about to say something but Skylar just smiled before bowing at her with respect.

"Moon is my light, night is my power and darkness is my domain." Skylar said like a chant but looked straight at me which I understood why she said that.

"We won't be seeing each other much, so better be careful and protect Zoi. Release them if you must. I'll be your aid." Skylar whispered to me before she left the McCollins house.

"Skylar...she's something. Well, she really came from a very well-known, powerful and peaceful pack." Melise said while smiling. She seemed to like the guts that Skylar showed her.

"I get what you mean, that's why she's my alpha." Mageia replied before looking at her watch then sat on the couch watching tv.

It has been an hour now, Zoi's wake up and came down with her mom then she immediately assured me nothing changed within her. We only sit, eat and laugh but when Melise told me and Zoi was going to share bed, I suddenly felt hot around my cheeks. In her bedroom, I immediately went to the bathroom to calm down my nerves.

"This is going to be a long time." I whispered to myself.

I tried to shake things up and act normal as I came out and changed my clothes. Meaning, I'm about to wear Zoi's clothes since this was a sudden sleepover. I can't help myself from smelling her through her clothes until she knocks.
