Alec shivered in pleasure as Magnus grinned down at him like a cat. Magnus bowed his head and kissed a trial from Alec's neck to his lips, sucking at his bottom lip. Alec let out a sound from the bottom of his throat, husky and deep. It only provoked Magnus to bit Alec's lower lip until Alec let out a small gasp. Alec tried speaking. To his utter surprise, he formed coherent words in between gasps as Magnus went onto getting rid of the Shadowhunter's clothes.

"Magnus... The kids... Are... Next door," Alec gasped. Magnus only smiled and mumbled something. Alec's brain did not register any words except 'Alexander'. But that one word had the most impact on him, so he gave up on trying to stop Magnus. Magnus grinned widely as Alec gave in and decided to kiss his way back up to Alec's lips. He paused when there was a knock.

"Rafe? Max?" Alec called. "It's Max," a tiny voice confirmed. Magnus quickly climbed off Alec, snapped his fingers so that they were dressed and in a comforting voice, told Max to come in. "Hey, Blueberry," Magnus cooed, "What's wrong?" Max shuddered slightly and climbed onto his parents' bed and then into Magnus' outstrectched arms.

"Nightmare," Max whispered, eyes shining with unshed tears. As much as Alec would've liked to carry on with what Magnus and him had been doing, he decided Max was more important. "Do you want to sleep here tonight?" Alec asked. Max gave a tiny nod and detached himself from Magnus and lied himself down between Alec and Magnus. Both the men lied down next, both of them facing Max and both of them throwing an arm around Max to interlink their fingers. With a small smile and a quiet 'good night' the three of them slept peacefully and without nightmares.

Magnus woke up late in the night, feeling a desire for water. As much as he could've magicked it up, he decided to go to the kitchen, get a drink and check on Rafe. On the way to the kitchen, he saw light emitting from the sitting room. Cautiously, making sure his magic was charged up, he headed to the sitting room, blue fire dancing at his fingertips.

"Who's there?" Magnus called as he entered the sitting room. And that's when he realised he had been worrying for the wrong reasons. The blue sparks died down when he saw Rafe, sprawled on the sofa, watching TV. Rafe looked up as Magnus came in and he smiled a small smile.

"What are you doing up so late, mister?" Magnus asked as he knelt in front of the sofa so Rafe didn't have to sit up. "I couldn't sleep," Rafe shrugged. Magnus shook his head. "You could've come into our room." Rafe shrugged again. "What if you two were doing... Things?" he asked. And at that Magnus burst out laughing. "Oh baby boy," Magnus cooed and Rafe cringed. Magnus let out another laugh at Rafe's expression after being called 'baby boy'. "Do you want me to sit by your bed?" Magnus offered. Rafe shook his head.  And then, after a few seconds of delierating, Magnus got up, lifted Rafe's head up from the sofa even though Rafe was protesting, sat down and positioned Rafe's head in his lap.

Rafe was very wary of lying down on his dad's lap, but knowing his dad, there'd be no point in protesting, so stayed in his dad's lap and turned his attention to the TV. Magnus carded through Rafe's hair and Rafe smiled a tiny smile. It was good feeling to know someone cared about you. With his dad humming, the TV still playing random things and with smooth fingers caressing his hair, Rafe fell into a blissful sleep.

Alec woke up to the morning sun streaming through the window and with Max coiled around him and clinging onto his sweater. Alec tried moving away but Max sleepily protested so Alec stayed still for a few moments until Max woke up. "Morining, baby," Alec said and Max yawned sleepily. "Where's dad?" Max asked. Alec hadn't realised Magnus wasn't on the other side of the bed until then. "I'm not sure, how about we go find out?" Alec asked. "Okay," Max grinned, "Only if you give me a piggy back." Alec beamed and nodded, scooping Max onto his back.

When Alec reached the sitting room with Max on his back, he was greeted with a very pleasant sight. Magnus' head was lolled back on the sofa, his mouth slightly agape and on his lap was Rafe, snoring softly and stuffing his head into Magnus' side. Alec couldn't help but smile at the warlock who was being a pillow to a Shadowhunter.

"Hey Max," Alec whispered, careful not to wake Magnus or Rafe. "How about we make breakfast for dad and your brother?" Max whooped quitely, showing his approval, so Alec and Max headed to the kitchen and Alec set his son down on the counter. "What should we make?" Alec asked. "Pancakes!" Max exclaimed and Alec obliged, giving the task of getting flour to Max. Maxy, happy to be given a job, bounced aroud the kitchen, briging Alec the flour and then the eggs, walking carefully, as if the eggs were precious gold.

Magnus woke up with a light pain in his neck but it was worth it when he saw Rafe on his lap, curling his head into Magnus' side. He also sensed the smell of pancakes form the kitchen, so gently moving Rafe's head, Magnus walked to the kitchen and when he found Alec flipping pancakes and Max sitting on the counter, his heart felt like it might open and spill elation.

Magnus prowled quietly into th kitchen, Alec still oblivious to his presence. But Max spotted him. Gesturing Max to be quiet, Magnus sneaked towards Alec and wrapped his arms aroung his Shadowhunter's middle. Alec tensed for a second but as soon as he knew who it was, he leaned around, giving Magnus a quick kiss."Pancakes?" Alec muttered against Magnus's mouth. Magnus was about to say something rude when Max squealed. "Gross!" Max exclaimed and Magnus moved away from Alec, sitting himself down beside Max on the counter.

"Off the counter, Magnus," Alec said furiously, but his eyes were twinkling joyfully. "Max gets to sit on the counter!" Magnus argued, faking a very dramatic offensive exression. Rafe walked in with a yawn, "Morning," he said, "Arguing again, are we?" Alec looked at Rafe with a smile. "Why don't you tell dad that he is not Max and therefore is not allowed to sit on the counter?" Alec asked, grinning. At that Rafe sighed, and sat down in the counter beside Magnus, who ruffed his hair. "That's my boy!" Magnus praised Rafe and the young Shadowhunter beamed.  Alec shook his head but Magnus knew he was secretly pleased with how the morning was going.

After another few minutes, Alec had finished making pancakes and he led the way to the sofa, carrying his plate and Max's. Alec sat down on one edge of the sofa, Max sat down next to him, making grabby hands for his pancakes. Rafe followed Max, sitting down beside his younger brother and Magnus sat next to Rafe, at the other end of the sofa. Alec and Magnus shared a smile over their sons' heads and they both knew that this family was perfect in every way.
