A/N Sorry for the delayed update but here's the third part to my multi-part story. Hope you enjoy! All characters belong to Cassandra Clare.

Magnus watched as the demon that Asmodeous had sent to Earth flew back through the creak on the floor. "Your friends seem to be quite good at dealing with demons," Asmodeous observed. "They are Shadowhunters," Magnus said back. Asmodeous gave him a smile. "But how many demons can they deal with?" Asmodeous asked and clicked his fingers. A dozen demons, different to the first one, flew through the border.

Jace stared as the Sensor beeped hysterically again. "Izzy, Clary," Jace called and they filed into his room. "We have an issue," Jace said and showed the Sensor. Both the girls gave an exasperated sigh and Izzy said, "I'll call Alec to help us." Jace looked at her worriedly. "Magnus..." Jace trailed off at Izzy's expression that could cut glass. "He's not like his father," Izzy spat and went onto calling Alec whilst Jace and Clary geared up.

"Father," Magnus said, "Don't do this!" "Stupid child," Asmodeous snapped, "We are evil. This is what we do. This is how we earn respect. Learn that." And with a cruel smile, Asmodeous added, "Thanks for helping me open this boundary." And then, before Magnus could react, Asmodeous glowed with both their magic combined, an ugly shade of red and blue. Asmodeous shot out his hands and the web of blue and red magic wrapped around Magnus and then, Magnus fell, darkness dragging him under.

Alec was still on the floor, unable to do anything until his phone went off. He put it to his ears. His sister's desperate voice called to him, years of brotherly instincts made his automatically ask, "Izzy, what's wrong?" "Too many demons. Get to Central Park. Please." And then Izzy hung up. With a defeated sigh, pocketing Magnus' letter, Alec exited the loft and went on, to fulfil his duties as a Shadowhunter, even though his heart was breaking into million pieces.

Jace, Izzy and Clary were already at Central Park when Alec got there. And as if recognising that the whole team was there, a demon shrieked overhead. Alec took aim and let an arrow fly from his bow. It gave a shriek and fell to the floor. Clary finished it off with a dagger. "We'll cover left, you cover right," Jace instructed and the boys took off towards the left of the city whilst Clary and Izzy went towards the right.

Jace knew it probably was wrong to ask, but he couldn't help it. "Alec, do you know about Magnus?" Alec's eyes went stormy as he shook his head. "I'll tell you later," Alec answered and let a butterfly knife fly. It landed in the heart of a demon that was coming towards them and then the demon vanished.

The brothers heard something behind them. Both of them turned. A demon was there. Jace kicked at its legs and Alec delivered a punch to it's face. It howled in pain. Using that to his advantage, Jace brought a dagger down on it. With a scream, it vanished.

"Izzy," Clary said, "Do you know what the demon meant about Magnus?" "Whatever, it was, it was a lie," Izzy said and freed some throwing knives. She let them go at a demon to her left whilst Clary punched and kicked at one to her right. Izzy helped finish it off with a throwing knife to its heart. And then both of them destroy a demon that flew low above them. And then, Izzy said, "Whatever the demon said, it's a lie, and we'll figure out the truth."

After doing a full loop, the four of them met back at Central Park. Alec sank on a bench and Jace beside him. Izzy and Clary stood before them. "What's going on?" Izzy inquired. "I don't know," Alec said and his voices sounded like he'd swallowed sand. "Magnus left," Alec said after awhile. "I don't where or why, but Magnus left me."

Jace placed a soothing arm on his parabatai's back. "We'll figure it out, parabatai," Jace said. Alec fished inside his pocket and handed Jace the letter Magnus had left him. Jace read it twice through. "What does it say?" Clary asked curiously. Jace explained: "Magnus has just said sorry for leaving Alec and that he'll watch over Alec wherever he is."

Clary's face brightened after a momentary confusion. "The demon outside the Institute," Clary said, "What did it say?" Alec perekd up. "There was demon outside the Institute?" Alec asked. "We finished it off, but it was one of Hell's very own demon," Izzy filled in, "But before it went, it said: 'Master Magnus helped Prince Asmodeus open the boundary between Earth and Hell. That would've been impossible for Prince Asmodeus to do on his own.'"

"Give me the letter," Clary said and snatched it out of Jace's hands. "'I had to leave you to save you,'" Clary read and then Alec brightened as well. "Asmodeous must've threatened Magnus," Alec said and Jace caught on. "He threatened to kill Alec if Magnus didn't come with him," Jace said. "So Magnus went to save Alec and Asmodeous is forcing Magnus to give him his magic to destroy Earth and the Angels," Izzy finished.

Realisation was breaking out on everyone and Alec immediately said, "We need to go save him." "The entrance to Asmodeous' realm, Edom, is in the Seelie Courts," Clary said. "We better go talk to the Seelie Queen, huh?" Jace said and Izzy said, "We should ask Simon along. The Queen likes him." Everyone nodded in agreement and as Clary called Simon to tell him everything, the other three got ready for their mission. A mission that could cost the lives of loved ones and a mission that required them to go into a realm of Hell.

To be continued...

A/N I hope you enjoyed. The next part should be up tomorrow or maybe even this evening. Also, as said by Cassandra Clare, it's Alec's birthday today!!
