A/N This is going to be the last story of this book... I hope you guys enjoy! This one-shot is set at the end of Queen of Air and Darkness.

"Magnus and Alec. You are now married, let us rejoice!" The Consul, Jia Penhallow, exclaimed and Magnus' heart threatened to open and drown him in love and elation. Alec pulled Magnus into his arms and everything else dissolved into the background: Isabelle sniffling her happy tears, Clary's smile that was as bright as the stars and there was Jace. Alec's parabatai looked so happy, so proud and he was glowing brighter than the setting sun. Slow music started all around and Magnus slowly swayed him and Alec to the beat.

After a few moments, everyone dispersed, leaving a lot of room for Magnus and Alec to dance. Alec put his face down on Magnus' shoulder and murmured, "We're married now, Magnus." Magnus chuckled heartily and said, "We very much are, my dear." And a quiet, loving silence fell around in which they only danced, Magnus occasionally peeping over Alec's head to see everyone else watching them. It was, maybe, after a further ten minutes that everyone else started dancing as well.

Jace swiftly walked over to the piano magicked up by Ragnor and started playing a bouncy tune, Simon joining him with a guitar that someone must've magicked up and Kieran ( A/N Read TDA to know who he is! He is epic!) joined them with his flute. Together, the three of them made mesmerising music and Izzy guided over Max and Rafe.

"Daddy, daddy!" Max chorused, "Are you and papa now married?" Alec separated himself from Magnus and lifted Max into his arms. "We are married, yes, blueberry," Alec replied and Max laughed happily, as if he already knew what the holiness and promises of a marriage meant.

"One day, I'll be married and be as happy as you are," Max said determinedly and Magnus said, "Of course you will, my sweetheart." "Will I be that happy as well?" Rafe questioned. "Yes. Yes, Rafe, you'll be so happy that you will feel like you are floating," Alec answered and Rafe said thoughtfully, "Do you feel like you are floating, Dad?" "I do," Alec replied and him and Magnus shared a smile.

The slow dancing had diffused and everyone was in party mood, Catarina spoiling everyone by getting champagne for the adults and chocolate for the kids. Clary stumbled over Izzy's feet in a bid to get chocolate and Simon used Clary's absence to steal his girl away, towards the ocean. Emma and Julian (A/N TDA characters) were sitting with their feet in the water and Magnus guided Alec over to a quiet spot on the sand. He magicked up a blanket, laid it out on the sand and sat down, tugging Alec next to him.

"Where are Max and Rafe?" Alec inquired. "They're with Clary and Jace," Magnus murmured and leaned in towards Alec. Alec's lips met Magnus' halfway and they kissed. This kiss was like no other kiss they had ever shared, full of love and happiness that only marriage had brought them. Magnus ran his hands over Alec's biceps and it was Alec who pulled away.

"We should get the kids to bed," Alec said but Magnus shook his head. "One day won't hurt," Magnus said and lied down on the blanket. With a smile, Alec lied down next to him, curling himself into Magnus' loving embrace.

"Can you believe it?" Alec asked, "After all this time, we are finally together. Like together together." Magnus laughed. "You said that when you asked me out on our first date," Magnus stated and Alec blushed. "By the Angel, you still remember that," Alec said and Magnus retorted with "Of course I do."

"No, but Magnus, when I first asked you to marry me, you said you wanted to get married in gold," Alec said. When they had adopted Max and Alec had asked Magnus to marry him, Magnus had said he had not wanted to get married in a ceremony that was lesser than a Nephilim ceremony. And now, they had gotten married, under new laws, as true Nephilim would.

"And now we are married. We got married in gold, Alexander," Magnus said, for some reason tears were filling his eyes. "I'm glad," was all Alec said and Magnus pulled Alec closer. "Thanks for waiting for me. I thought you'd prefer to get married in a proper Shadowhunter ceremony. I had never thought about getting married but when you asked me... All that time ago, I realised that when we married, we should only marry in gold," Magnus whispered. "I'm happy we waited. This day will be unforgettable. After everything we've been through, this day... I'll always remember it," Alec whispered back and Magnus replied: "I will too."

And with that, a comfortable quiet spread, with both Magnus and Alec watching the beach which was covered in people they could call family and friends. Everyone was happy, so happy that even in darkness, the beach shined brightly. And the brightest of all was Magnus and Alec, finally married. Married in the way they had always wanted. Married by the beach. Married with all their family and friends.

Married in gold.
