A/N Thanks for all the views guys. This is the second part to When Night Falls, so if you haven't read that, read that first so that this makes sense. Thank you!

Alec, Jace, Izzy, Clary and Simon were sitting in Jace's room. Jace, Clary and Alec sat on the bed whilst Izzy and Simon were on the floor. When Alec had said he had wanted to talk, he wasn't as frightened as he was now. Right now, he was petrified of everyone's reaction. Jace reassuringly squeezed Alec's hand and one time, butterflies would be floating in his stomach at the contact, but right now, Alec felt frozen.

"Alec, you can tell us anything," Jace urged him on, all cockiness leaving him as he felt Alec's uncomfortableness through their bond. With a deep breath Alec started talking. "I used to like you, Jace," he confessed.  "That's okay," Jace said, "Is that what's bothering you?" Alec nodded and then shook his head. "I don't like you anymore," Alec said quietly. "Oh I am so offended," Jace said, dramatically putting a hand to his heart and Clary slapped his back softly.

Alec was definitely not sure how this was going. He decided the best thing to do was just spill it. "I liked you, Jace but then I met Magnus, I've been seeing him and we were dating-" Jace cut him off. "'Were'?" He asked. Now tears sprung to Alec's eyes. "Yes," he said sadly, "We were dating but today he broke it off because he thinks I still like you and I though I did too but after Magnus left me, I've realised that I don't, Jace. I like Magnus and I don't like anyone else." Now Alec's tears were running freely, and Alec decided not to stop them. Jace put a hand around Alec.

"I'm sorry, Alec," Jace whispered. "Magnus is right, isn't he? I was using him to get over you and I haven't told any of you about him and it's almost like I'm embarrassed of him, but I'm not. I was so stupid. He is so far above me, I don't deserve him," Alec said softly, crying into his parabatai's shoulder. "Shush, Alec, don't say that," Jace said, rubbing soothing circles on Alec's back. "You do deserve him and you were happy when you were with him so now that you know you don't like me in that way, talk to him." Alec shook his head vigorously. "He hates me, Jace," Alec said. "Alec, talk to him," Jace said again and before Alec could protest, the door opened and Robert Lightwood walked in.

Magnus had finally calmed down in the hands of Tessa. Tessa smiled a wry smile and looked at Magnus. "He'll be back," Tessa whispered. Tessa moved her hands a Portal appeared. Magnus caught at Tessa's wrist. "What did you come here for?" he asked her. "A friendly visit," Tessa smiled and stepped through the Portal. The sun was now setting over Brooklyn and just when Magnus as about to get drunk, his phone went off. Magnus put it to his ears and said in a booming voice, "WHO CALLS UPON THE HIGH WARLOCK OF BROOKLYN?" He was surprised at who responded. "It's Jace Lightwood and we've got an issue. It's Alec."

All five of them sat frozen at the sight of Robert, who looked furious. "Alec Lightwood, what is wrong with you?!" Alec tensed and Jace gripped his hand. "Your mother has given birth to an abomination!" Robert screeched. At that Jace fumed. "Robert, he's your son!" At that Robert turned an ugly shade of red. "No son of mine will be dating downworlders, let alone men and warlocks." Now it was Izzy's turn to yell. "Dad, don't you dare talk to my brother like that!" Robert turned to Izzy, spotted Simon and looked like he was about to puke. "Vampire, get out." Simon looked astounded, Izzy was fuming, Jace had his mouth open, Clary was looking disgusted and Alec was blanching. "You don't talk to my parabatai or Simon like that!" Jace said. "I'm the head of the Institute so I very well can. Vampire out. And Alec, don't look at me again." With that, Alec shot up lightning fast, bolted past his father and ran. "Alec!" Jace and Izzy called in synchronisation. "Vampire out. If any of you try going after my son, you won't ever be welcome in this Institute again," Robert warned left the room, leaving everyone appalled.

Magnus was listening to Jace who was reciting what had happened at the Institute with Robert. "Simon has gone after Alec using his vamp speed, but we are worried he's come to some bad conclusions," Jace finished and Magnus felt a deep hatred for Robert growing inside him. And before any questions could be asked Jace' voice came again, troubled and flustered: "Magnus, Simon just called Clary and some werewolves were blocking Alec's path so he decided to pick a fight with them. He's not thinking straight and apparently there were seven werewolves and Alec, none of us, would be able to walk out of that alive. Simon can't do anything, we aren't allowed to leave the Institute so please help my brother." Magnus had never heard Jace sounding so desperate. "I will, I've got one of his T-shirts here, I'll track him and bring him back to my place," Magnus said to Jace and hung up. He was going to get his Alexander back.

Alec felt a searing pain in his back as a werewolf, claws extended, scraped a line down his back. He bit back a scream. He wasn't going to scream. He deserved this for what he did to Magnus. He was going to endure this and if he came out alive, he was going to go to Magnus and properly apologise. There was another flash of pain on his right shoulder, a different claw piercing through his skin. And then when Alec looked up, the werewolves were on the floor, writhing in pain. When Alec looked up a little further, he saw Magnus Bane.

There was a sudden pain in his head and his legs turned to jelly before completely giving out. Alec collapsed on the floor and Magnus rushed to him, along with another figure. Alec didn't know who that was. He didn't care. He only saw Magnus and using the last ounce of his strength, he reached a hand to Magnus' cheek and Magnus clasped Alec's hand there with his own. Before totally blacking out, Alec looked into Magnus's deep amber eyes, remembering how beautiful they are, and whispered, "I'm sorry."
