A/N So this is the second part to 'Whatever May Come, Your Heart I Will Choose' so please read that first if you haven't. I hope you enjoy this! The credit for the title goes to Ruelle and the credit for the characters go to Cassandra Clare. Let's see what Alec chooses!

Alec frantically paced the street in which Magnus' loft was located. He didn't know what to do. He'd wanted to make his parents proud for so long and now, even with such a great opportunity presenting itself to Alec, he couldn't do it. He'd be damned if he did. Magnus had shown him far more care in a two years than his parents had done for his whole life. Surely, he had to choose Magnus, but why was the decision so hard?

Magnus was sure it was only thirty minutes before Alec came back in again, but it definitely felt more like a year. "Magnus," Alec said, voice shaking, hands shaking, his whole body shaking. "Whatever you choose, you'll always stay in my heart, Alexander," Magnus reassured him but Magnus didn't feel one bit reassured. He was sure Alec wasn't either. And then Alec did something that Magnus would never have excepted Alec to do. He went down on knee.

"Magnus, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken even one second to think. There's nothing to think about. I love you and I love you more than anything and the only thing I want is you; I don't care about being Consul and if you don't forgive me, I understand. But if you do want me back, I want to give myself to you fully and show you that you're the only one who matters to me. So Magnus, I give myself to you, completely. Magnus Bane, will you marry me?" Alec asked.

Both Magnus and Alec were crying; Magnus had sunken to the floor and was rocking Alec back and forth, kissing his forehead and his cheek. "Oh, my Alec, of course I'll marry you," Magnus whispered and pressed his lips to Alec's feverishly. The kiss was all kinds of messy but neither of them cared, too busy soaked up in each other and then-

And then both of them jumped back when a voice screeched, "Alec Lightwood!" Alec's eyes teared up again, realisation that he had not locked the door flooded in as he stood up, pulling Magnus along with him, latching onto his hand tightly. "Maryse," Magnus said calmly, "Welcome to my home."

Maryse ignored Magnus and looked at her son with burning eyes. "Alec, I thought I'd come help you move your stuff out from this filthy warlock's house, I did not come to find you wrapped all around this disgusting piece of crap and please move away from him before Jace and Izzy get here; they are going to help us pack," she finished. And then, Alec stopped his tears, and eyes shining as bright as a supernova, he met his mother's eyes, standing with his head held high and chest straight.

"Mother, you do not get to talk to my fiancé like that, you have no rights. I don't want to become Consul, I want to become Magnus' husband and that is what I'll do, so you can screw your dreams about me becoming a puppet for you in the Clave. And please leave our home," Alec finished and turned to Magnus. "Come on, Magnus, we've got a wedding to plan."

A slow clap slowly arouse and Alec found Izzy, Jace, Simon and Clary standing at the doorway, all of them smiling. "When's the wedding, brother?" Izzy asked. And Maryse screamed, "There will be no wedding! Alec Lightwood, you are to take upon the offer of Consul. Tell Jia that you will. Right. Now." Magnus' heart filled with love and pride when Alec walked over to his other and said, "You can't tell me what to do. I'm of age and I want to marry Magnus."

Maryse turned an ugly shade of red and stormed out of the loft whilst Jace and Izzy enveloped Alec in congratulating hugs. Finally managing to pull away, Alec said, "Magnus and I need to talk alone, please." Everyone gave understanding nods and backed out of the loft, leaving Magnus and Alec alone.

Magnus could not help himself crashing his lips to Alec's, murmuring phrases of love and saying Alec's name over and over again. "Alexander," Magnus whispered, tackling Alec on the floor, "When do you want to get married?" Alec smiled against Magnus' mouth. "How about right now?" he suggested. Magnus pulled away to look into Alec's blue eyes. "How about tomorrow?" Alec grinned and pulled Magnus down against him, "Whenever you want, I just need to show you how much I love you." Magnus smiled, thanking the Gods for Alec.

That Night

"Magnus?" Alec called quietly, head on Magnus' chest. "Is this a bit to quick for you?" Alec asked. "The sooner we're married, the happier I'll be, Shadowhunter," Magnus confirmed and placed a kiss on Alec's hand. "I'm glad," Alec whispered. "Let's just have a really simple wedding with our close friends, yeah?" Magnus asked and Alec nodded, "It'll be really sweet," Magnus reassured Alec, "Just us and the friends who love us, right here in our home." "That sounds lovely, Magnus but don't you want to have a flashy and glittery wedding?" Alec asked and Magnus laughed heartily. "As much as I love big flashy ceremonies, a small wedding with a tight circle of friends would be just perfect, Alexander," Magnus said and Alec smiled against Magnus' neck. "I love you, Magnus," Alec whispered. "And I love you, Alexander. I love you so so much," Magnus whispered back. And the two of them held onto each other in the dark.

A/N My next part (which will hopefully be out in the weekend) will be the Malec wedding and I can't wait for you guys to read it! I hope you liked this little proposal. It wasn't perfect, but it shows how much Malec love each other, so there you go. Comment, vote and share if you liked the story!
