A/N This is my fourth one-shot based on a picture; hope you like it. Credit to the gorgeous person who came up with the picture and credit to Cassandra Clare for our beloved Malec.
Magnus was dragging Alec to a pub. He had only managed to convince Alec by a few kisses and many snuggles. Magnus was dressed fashionably whilst Alec had opted for jeans and a blue sweater. "Magnus, if you dare kiss someone else, I'll be very annoyed," Alec threatened. Magnus let out a chuckle. "I won't get that drunk, Alexander, don't you worry," Magnus said and then added, "Besides, I belong to you; heart, soul and body." Alec smiled, pulling Magnus closer to his side. "I'm glad," he murmured, kissing Magnus' cheek.
Magnus hummed, turned himself around so that he was facing Alec and crashed their lips together. Alec made a pleased sound and pulled Magnus flush against him. "Hmmm," Magnus whispered, "This is not going to convince me to give up a night of getting drunk." "I didn't start kissing you, you started kissing me," Alec countered quietly, kissing Magnus' jawline. Magnus murmured several other words, sounding drunk already, and then pulled away. "Alexander Gideon Lightwood-Bane," Magnus said, his mouth twitching into a smile. "The pub. Now." Magnus ordered, tugging Alec by the hand.
Once inside the pub, Magnus tightened his grip on Alec, smirking wickedly. "Alexander, can I interest you in having a dance?" Magnus asked charmingly. Alec shook his head, "I'm getting a drink," he informed Magnus and made a bee-line towards the bar, watching as Magnus mingled into the dance-floor, swaying to the beat.
Magnus' body moved reflexively to the beat and he was caught up dancing. A faerie came up to him and held a hand out. Magnus took it, twirling and dancing in synchronisation the the green-skinned faerie. Alec would not mind this. It was casual dancing. At least Magnus hoped he wouldn't.
Alec watched as Magnus danced with a green-skinned Downworlder. At earlier stages of his relationship, this might've caused Alec a little jealousy, but now, Alec watched with half-admiration as the Magnus and his dance-partner danced happily, head thrown back. And then a slow song came on. Magnus immediately detached himself from the faerie, walked to Alec, held a hand out. "May I have this dance, sir?" Magnus asked, smiling sweetly. Alec nodded and took Magnus' hand in his and the two of them moved to the beat, pressed together, as if trying to make them one human, to be together and to never get parted. It was bliss.
Magnus failed in convincing Alec to stay for more than three dances and when Alec went to the bar, Magnus followed. He was going to get proper drunk. He ordered a few shots and gulped them down, though Alec was warning him of the horrible hangover he'd have tomorrow. He didn't care. Magnus felt amazing and getting drunk would add to that, so he got drunk.
Alec stopped drinking after a can of beer; he had to stay somewhat sober to get Magnus home. And when Magnus was yelling 'Alexander' rather loudly, Alec decided to get Magnus home. "Magnus, let get home," Alec cooed. Magnus looked like he was going to cry. "Magnus, don't cry, we are just getting home," Alec pressed, running a finger down Magnus' cheek. After a moment of tearing up, Magnus stood up, wobbling slightly. With a smile, Alec interlinked their fingers and walked towards the front door Magnus staggering right at his heals.
Just as they were about to go out, a vampire screeched, "Magnusssss!" And Magnus slurred back, "Ssylviann!" Alec stood there, a little awkwardly. "So who's this hell of a man?" Sylvian asked, gesturing at Alec and winking. Alec bit back the urge to puke. "He's my boyfriend!" Magnus exclaimed happily, and then he gazed at Alec, as if wanting his confirmation. Alec glared.
"Okay, fine," Magnus said and held up a hand as if surrendering, "We've been dating for a while," Magnus said and then looked at Alec again. Alec still glared. It took some effort to keep from laughing but Alec succeeded. Magnus looked at Sylvian again. "We've only been seeing each other for a few weeks, but we are deeply connected," Magnus said, and almost fearfully looked at Alec. Quickly unsmiling, Alec glared again. Magnus shook his head, looking frustrated. "What are we then?" Magnus asked and Alec smiled a slow smile. "We're married, Magnus."
---The Next Day---
Magnus gaped at Alec as he recited the events of the previous night, sitting comfortably on the couch. "Alec- I- Wow," Magnus said, unsure of what else to say. "I'm sorry," he said after a while. Alec looked at him, startled. "Why are you sorry?" Alec asked. "I did forget that we're married," Magnus murmured and surprisingly Alec laughed and pulled Magnus towards him. "Magnus, it was really funny and cute, don't be sorry!" Alec said, kissing Magnus' cheek. Magnus looked up at Alec and smiled unsurely. Alec grinned back. "It was adorable," Alec reiterated and kissed Magnus on the lips quickly. Before he could get too far away, Magnus pulled Alec down, lying down on the sofa and tugging Alec on top of him. "I love you, husband," Magnus murmured, kissing a line down Alec's throat. "I love you too, my adorable husband," Alec whispered and the two of them carried each other into a blissful, incandescent state.
